I want Suomi so that the Germans will no longer have a direct upgrade from their best non-premium weapon, and instead have a weapon that is actually unique for them, instead of just Machine Pistol version 53. As that is how many âdifferentâ MPs it feels like we have now.

I have no need for the Suomi if the PPDs have their recoil increased a bit or if the German SMGs get their damage increased by 1-1.5(the unbalance is way too much at this point. Even players on the Russian forums say this). The Suomi is a good counter to the PPDs in the current balance setup. But I do agree that having this weapon widely accessible ruins uniqueness.
Which is why I suggested it as a replacement for MP-41. The German premium SMG has been controversial since itâs inception. The Suomi will be one which has performance known by everyone and has no surprises and gives no advantage to a player without good trigger finger. This still adds way too many said weapon to the matches.
All in all, Suomi equipped squads for the alpha testers is a brilliant idea.

For the Suomi, yes. General SMG balance, no.
I will never be able to wrap my head around the PPDs firing the way they do while having little to no recoil. Either increase recoil or buff MP dmg. I prefer the former but what the hell.
For the SMG balance, I will leave other players to discuss it

My plan for weapon balance has always remained the same. Wait for OBT. There is far too few competent players now to know how these weapons perform in full fledged matches. Not just SMGs but every weapon and itâs counterpart in the game. Devs, as expected, hasnât been listening and proceeded to nerf and buff taking only the win rate into consideration. The lack of players on a particular faction makes this even worse.
So how does anyone else get the Suomi SMG?
tbh I donât see a damage increase for MPs that already do great damage doing anything other than making them a bit overpowered. They do wonderful damage on torso shots and their recoil carries them into headshots if you aim at centermass.
I wouldnât do anything with them except make the MP28 in Moscow the MP28 stendo from Normandy. MP38 and 40 are a-okay for me.

I believe I can summarise this thread by stating that everybody would love to see the Suomi SMG added to the game (I made an official poll in my head and because it is my poll it surely must be a valid inquiry), that it should have the drum magazine and, finally, that it should be the best SMG available. That should be agreeable enough to everyone involved!
