Asymmetrical balance or mirror gameplay? (poll)

When I first started playing Enlisted I loved the difference between the teams and always wanted that difference developed further. I loved the way Enlisted was being developed until something happened

Some players were suggesting the mirror gameplay
I couldn’t even believe anyone wants the mirror gameplay but maybe Enlisted is not a game for me and maybe the community does actually want the mirror gameplay

What is the difference between the asymmetrical and mirror balance?

Asymmetrical balance is somewhat like we see it now. When the game is asymmetrically balanced, it means that both teams have something unique to offer. For example: Fast firing PPD VS slow firing but stable MP, low recoil M1 Garand VS more recoil but better mag G43, Slow firing but strong Mosin rifle VS the fast firing but slightly weaker Kar-98, Pz-4E with good armour VS t-28 with good survivability…
Anyways, the asymmetrical balance keeps both teams unique and different while at the same time finding a way to balance them out.

Mirror gameplay is when both teams are identical and weapons function the same but they are just a reskin of each other.
For example: introduced Suomi to be a reskin of the PPD for axis, Kar-98, M1903 and Mosin should be the same rifle but reskined.

All tanks to be the same with no extreme difference in their playstyle,
All in all, Mirror gameplay allows the player to choose the nation he wants to play for political, personal and esthetical reason and not for gameplay reasons.

Do you want Enlisted to be entirely balanced like a mirror?

In my opinion you CAN’T make game symmetrical and with realistic stats at the same time.
Life isn’t fair, and if we want realistic weapons we have to accept that.

I want FAIR asymetry
Soviets get fast shooting low damage guns
Germans get slow shooting high damage guns
Result: everyone is happy

Yes, and I’ve never said the opposite.

By mistake

As I said in another discussion, soviet smg damage is only 0,2 points higher, while the rof is 1,5 times is high. Therefore, soviet DPS is much higher than german’s

Alpha/Early beta weapon balance was great.
But then they nerfed all German MPs and reduced recoil for the Soviets

I think the current balance is okay.

MP-38 could receive a minor buff but MP-41 is powerful enough

MP-41 might be op, but that’s because it got maximum upgrades. It’s actually identical to maxed out MP-40

So nerf the upgrades for all SMG’s and that’s balanced okayish

Remove upgrades and give us sidegrades.

Like I said in once, badly developed sidegrades can allow one weapon to work like every other weapon

I would give sidegrades for MG-34 because that gun actually had sidegrades irl

It has much lower recoil than MP40, so you can’t say they are identical. I’m not trying to start that war again, just wanted to correct your statement.
Maxed out MP40: 17 vertical recoil, 9 horizontal recoil
Unupgraded (I don’t have premium squads, so can’t provide upgraded stats) MP41: 14 vertical recoil, 6 horizontal recoil

I want them too but we are taking a big risk by suggesting them

I would like a 3rd and 4th option to be added to this poll to prevent a redo from last time:
3rd:
“Asymmetry is fine, as long as the weapons are balanced per type”
(I.E. Not one side having better SMGs while the other side gets better Rifles, but PPD vs MP is fine)
and 4th:
“Other”

And I never said I want to entirely mirror the symmetry. I just want to make sure that per weapon type, the game is balanced. I don’t want to have to rely on AT guns because my tanks are shit, or rely on my MGs because my SMGs are shit. I also want each side to have enough options for unique gameplay.

If the PPD Box had a faster reload and less weight, or the PPD drum a slower reload, there would be an argument which one to use. But rn, the drum PPD is just better, while IRL most soldiers favored the box magazines due to the tedious reload process and the unreliability of the drum.

Everything involves risk. We can only hope that devs know what they are doing and give our feedback.
I can’t suggest much to solve this issue because it’s balancing problem that needs to be solved for every gun separately.
The only solution I can think of: sidegrades wouldn’t give stat bonus but utility bonus, like for example rifle grenade.

Tbh even if we end up with weapons mimicking other ones, it still would be better than current system.

I will too try to be more creative now when I blocked all the players who s*** on other people’s posts and never suggest anything themselves

I would give weapon limits to rifle grenades so players can’t run around armed to the teeth with rifle grenades

True, I would give different types of sidegrades

Like for example, option for MP-28, MP-34 and MP-35 to be held by the magazine like type 100 in CoD: World at war

By holding the gun this way, you decrease the recoil but your ability to peek from the side will be impossible when peeking to the right
