It already does! Factions trends are a thing, everyone knows this…
The difference is that for now, ppl are allowed to “dip their toe” in the unpopular factions from time to time. test the waters. “did the trend change? Would I have fun? I can try at least!”
your suggestion will just remove that.
speaking of monkeys, it’s exactly that! the monkey experiment with punishments. Munkeh learnt that punishments suck a**. So. They NEVER EVER TRY AGAIN.
anyway enough of this.
i’m against more form of POINTLESS punishments in this casual game, that’s my opinion.
But that’s not exactly what’s happening. As soon as they dip their toes on the losing side. They immediately changes their minds and tries to find the most popular faction atm.
That’s where they need to be stopped. People should stay in the faction they intended to play. And not change sides because the other side is now the meta and they do have easier progress/rewards/stats
Obv, factional biases exist. And “finger-wetting” is one of its causes. Not the other way around.
It will only affect those who play all factions, are not mains and take the path of least resistance. Literally not everyone has that mindset.
I’ve seen enough good players here in the last few days making screenshots of how they have a low winrate.
That being said, your whole idea of everyone uniting into one big super faction is absolutely ridiculous.
These are not punishments. They’re fixes for exploits in this game.
That something like this is even allowed is the fault of the system.
I guess you wouldn’t care to play the Japanese endlessly if that was the faction the popularity lottery ticket fell for.
Stop twisting reality here with the idea that there are only players who exploit these exploits and no one else
Because that’s not true. These people are in the minority and just cripple the game for everyone else.
And if they take these fixes as punishments, only good.
All I see is selfishness and insecurity. Exploits should not be a feature of the game.
I don’t quit games because I’m moving to another country/faction. I quit because the game is lopsided and I join another that is usually not. People may be jumping around factions to find one that is winning, but I think it has more to do with the matchmaking than simply “one faction is attracting better players.” At least this is my experience. I play mostly Germany because I prefer their weapons. If I get put in a lopsided match, I quit and join another. Usually the next match is much better. Nothing to do with one faction being better in that scenario.
I guess you are right.
And all those posts about japan being stomped I see are just my imagination. Because ppl surely don’t just join the winning faction and quit the loosing one.
It’s certainly not the only reason people leave games. Punishing people based upon one scenario is not a good fix for the problem. Again, it’s about matchmaking. If someone is quitting because they were in a Japan v USA game where the USA team was stomping them, it is a matchmaking problem, not a Japan v USA problem. Fix the root cause of the problem.
I don’t say it’s the only reason. I just say this idea will make faction stacking more tempting. Why switch sides if I’m winning and I get punished for quitting loost matches?
Maybe not many ppl will start doing this. But we know for a fact it’s already an issue so why risk making it worse?
Let me see if I have this correct… You propose punishing people for leaving lopsided matches where they are getting pounded by another faction, in hopes that they don’t leave matches like that in the future. So in your world, rather than FIXING THE MATCHMAKING, these folks just enjoy their lopsided matches where tryhard pay-to-play players farm XP from them all day long. How does that fix the problem.
Why not fix the root cause and factor the appropriate criteria into the matchmaking algorithm so that tryhards with 4:1 KDRs and every pay-to-play squad play the same tryhards, and casual players play causal players. No? CoD did it pretty well (not perfect either, but a hell of a lot better than Enlisted does).
Dude, that’s exactly what I’m saying this punishment will do. More ppl will stick to the winning side to not get punnished for quitting lost matches. Hard to say how many more? Probably not much, but it’s already an issue so lets not make it worse.
Should be a fixed waiting time based on player not squad
It should be a desertion ratio in statistic, but anyway statistc are private so mostly unnecessary
Anyway best way to stop desertion is fix why people desert, standard cap time and reinforcements is a first step, next step is work on a better BR queque
