Anti-desertion should be next step

Also. Locking squads is a fundamentally bad idea with current mechanics.

  • Factions tend to be stacked due to trends.

Your suggestion will just worsen that.

What I said in that jap thread somewhere. This will only make those stacks go crazy… And not solve the problem it seems they constantly complain about.

Sorry I meant a penalty for *losing, not leaving. I did not get a penalty for losing the match I posted a screen shot of. I was testing it out based on your comment that you’re penalized for simply losing a match.

This ^ EXACTLY. They need to fix the ROOT CAUSE, not punish people for leaving terribly mismatched games. I leave probably 50% of the games I join daily because I can instantly tell (like in the screenshot I posted above) that the match is completely stacked in favor of the other team.

How would an anti-deserters policy fix the match I posted above. It was a total wash mismatch. Other than the chinese dude at #13 who left before it started, every other player we had was a bot. Me not leaving did not prevent the rest of my team from having a great match, lol. FIX THE MATCHMAKING SYSTEM. Plain and simple. If you have pay-to-pay players, don’t put them all on a team against fucking bots and non pay-to-pay players. Pretty simple.

The problem is that you as an individual mean nothing compared to a healthier game environment.

I used to have exactly the same opinion as you. But I think that as long as there is desertion without any relevant sanction, we will never get rid of faction bias.
It will always just be a matter of the majority of better players in team 1 overrunning the minority of better players in team 2.
Minority of better player which was steamrolled will then desert in first few minutes of the match. And this pattern is going to repeat itself over and over again.

In the current state of the game, it’s always going to be about the better players wanting to get on the team that has more of them than the the opposing team.

And the current system just encourages the mentality that if you’re in the minority, it’s always better to leave the match right away.

This is incredibly unhealthy for the game as a whole.

Sorry not sorry. I just don’t want Enlisted to be pre-merge Tunisia, just in bigger scale.

Imagine.

There’s already this:
“Bonus 1.5x xp for winning”

Mathematically it also means, MINUS 1.5x for losing.

Another reason why ppl leave obviously unbalanced matches.

There’s so many things to correct before adding stupid squad lock mechanics.

FAIR COUNTER SUGGESTION:

  • do make desertion count as loss in stats.
  • make deserters earn ZERO xp/silver instead of 75%.

Even better! Plus, like my last suggestion, you can also make, stats visible. But it might lead to a world of tanks, etc. scenarios. So, take that with salt. And I say this as someone with nothing to hide.

I get what you write, but your suggestion not only REINFORCE the mentality of stacking popular factions and ignore less popular ones, it will also replace casual desertion, by casual uninstalling of the game.

It’s even worse. You’d chase casuals away.

Then only sweats or rank farmers of popular factions would remain.

And sweats hate each others. (Ironic)

It’s just a bad idea.

I’ll keep beating the dead horse. They need to FIX the problem, which is terrible matchmaking. Almost all of the matches I leave, I leave within the first squad deployment or earlier. I’m not losing any XP or silver by leaving and I sure as shit don’t care if I have a loss in my stats. I’m playing this game for fun, not to dick measure my win/loss ratio lol.

Inherently, the business model for this game is to blame. It’s freemium, which means you’re going to have players like me who pay the minimal amount for the battle pass, and then there are players who sink thousands of dollars into the game buying up every premium squad they can. This causes a disparity, which is seemingly not being accounted for appropriately in matchmaking.

They need to add these criteria to the algorithm when matchmaking. Plain and simple. Matches will be more balanced, more people will have fun, less people will desert.

FIX THE MATCHMAKING.

That’s completely wrong.

  1. casuals do not care about being slaughtered
  2. if minority cant be allowed to reroll MM RNG so long until they’re eventually in majority, the faction bias will be less prevalent.
Because the option itself to just reroll MM rng makes faction bias more obvious. And you can’t just allow that.
    It’s just classic exploit.

This suggestion has basically zero impact on casuals.

I play less than 20 matches per week, on average. I consider myself very casual and I care very much about wasting my time getting slaughtered.

You’re not casual just because you’re interested in the game enough to be here on the forum. You literally do care about the game.
World is not just black and white, and so gaming community isn’t just about casuals and hardcore nolifers.

Casuals are the ones most people confuse with bots.

If there will be a measure to punish me for dodging this damn awful Conquest mode… Guess there are other grind-fests to waste my life on :stuck_out_tongue:

That’s completely true.

  • Casuals are just ppl who play less. They don’t like being sweat’s punching bags, like any other persons.
  • If minority can’t be alloyed to reroll, they’ll just fill up popular factions, all the time, without EVER risking unpopular ones. As will sweats (sweats also stack winning factions), casuals, rank farmers.

After a time, ppl will learn which faction to play (wins the most often) and which to avoid (either lose or desert then don’t play)

I will leave maps or modes that I don’t like
I will leave teams who just want to fuck around
I will leave if servers become a lag spike mess
I will leave if real life hits me

Your point is to add Anti-desertion measures, that doesn’t immediately solve the reason why players are deserting, if you were to brute-force a solution without understanding your problem scope, how sure are you that your solution will actually solve the problem.

If I were to make a comparison, it’s like setting up trampolines for suicidal people, sure you’ll prevent some deaths, but thats is not solving the root cause of the problem

people defending deserters only because they are probably tier 3 skipping high tier match just to farm with tier 3 tanks in low br , diserters should get a penalty and so everyone will choose wisely his br and try playing for winning and not farming

Nope you dolt.
Again it doesn’t fix the main issue:

  • only two queue being 1,2,3 and 3,4,5.

Fix that first before asking silly punishments that won’t solve anything .

Studies show that annimals need about 40% “wirnate” to not quit and keep playing.
So yes, casuals do mind being slaughtered. Even monkeys do.
Not even annimals concider loosing fun.

Save the munkehs.

One day, casual munkeh could become a gorilla. Not with stupid and pointless punishment, thought…
