Thats because it doesnt do the HMG stuff it should, like the emplacement. Of course it doesnt feel like an HMG when it does less damage than the .30 cal MG

Didn’t know the 1919a4 did 12 damage when mounted and this thing does 7.5 if so that means the mars pistol does more damage at around 9 (from memory). IMO increase the damage to at least 10 reduce rpm’s from 800 to 550 and increase the max elevation by 40 degrees maybe more would be ideal IMO…

Saying that increasing the damage and elevation of the M2 wouldn’t be fair to aviators doesn’t make sense. The M2 was used for multiple purposes, including anti-aircraft fire. Increasing the weapon’s damage and elevation wouldn’t make it as effective an anti-aircraft weapon as some are saying, since the turret wouldn’t have 360-degree rotation, and the vehicle is very vulnerable to artillery, infantry, and various types of shrapnel. A good example is the Soviet engineers’ DSKH, which has good elevation, a good rate of fire, and damage, and yet it’s not a threat to aviators to the point of unbalancing the gameplay. Yes, the DSKH doesn’t have a targeting reticle for aircraft, but for most experienced players, calculating the trajectory of the shot with the trajectory of the aircraft is almost instinctive, so for me it didn’t make much difference whether this was maintained or not.

vehicle 50s should be a threat especially open tops i despise how it wont at least guarantee mutual death when you spray up a plane with a 50 when they dive at you as an avid open top enjoyer seeing my main defense just tickle planes is so dumb

some people are saying something that is making me bash my head on my keyboard the line “it was not intended for AA use.” This particular mount is the same one on all of the Shermans it’s for AA work it’s a loose mount(meaning its aimed and traversed without gearsunlike the tripod) with high elevation angles it’s also for destroying light vehicles like trucks and cars as well infantry, but its primary purpose was always AA work.

This by the way is why I’m not too chafed the U.S lacks better SPAAs than the Stink and M13 because like literally everything we have has an AA gun on it.

It was INTENDED to be an AA gun. Once they found out it wasn’t very effective in that role, they decided to throw it on everything to use them up because they already ordered them. It turned into a general purpose gun, saying it’s primary purpose was for planes though isn’t quite right. Your point still stands, just making a correction.

To be fair 1 .50 cal is not a very good hard kill solution in the first place hence existence of his holy child the Maxon M45 Quad mount even that struggled but was far better at the job.
Kinda funny how we strapped that dang thing to anything that would hold it. Plane? 50 cal. Half track? 50 cal. Jeep? 50 cal. Bomber? 50 cal. Tank? 50 cal. Boat? you best belive we are gonna find a way to strap 10 of them on the thing.

and one of those purpose is aa so they had high elevation for that my beloved m8 scott is one example of its intended aa use as they sat far away from infantry where air attacks were a greater risk

After testing it out I can definitely say this event stinks of Germie Bias the AS-41 has all the benefits of the Off-road class with none of the drawbacks or ridiculous handicaps.

Well, it’s not as good as i thought it would be. The machineguns can hardly rotate, so your flanks are open and the bots on guns won’t alert you someone is there because they can’t rotate enough to see the sides. Was a little disappointed with the 12 rds for 20mm along with not having a scope view for AA, along with a pretty shit zoomed view as well.
However the 20mm does seem pretty strong compared to the flak panzer. No clue if that’s just in my head though because i was able to down bombers pretty easily with it. Would be interested to know stats on the gun.
I was also a little disappointed with the speed. Stats say 80kmh, that’s puma fast, but it felt like it never reached half that.
the as 42 has less wheels to tonnage meaning its acceleration is sluggish i was able to get it up into the 70s on the roads in the test track but its overall slower and clumsier off road but thats historic the vehicle performed poorly outside of tunisia
its a give and take i love it as finally some form of italian light armor but its quite large and loud so you get targeted more plus its ammo is modeled so u get 1 tapped alot
