Bomb sights have been added to high-altitude bombers from BR 4 to BR 5, finally putting the belly bomb aimers to good use. Still, many worry this feature might be overpowered, and there hasn’t been much discussion about it on the forums.
On open maps like Tunisia and Moscow, bombers can make repeated bombing runs. Most players don’t bring dedicated air-superiority fighters. Free-to-play players only have four deployment slots, which are usually taken up by engineers, leaving little room for aircraft or anti-air units to intercept bombers. The situation gets even worse if some pilots only strafe ground targets and let enemy bombers run rampant.
At very high altitudes, ground infantry models fail to load, so players have to bomb blindly using objective markers. Also, walls and towers drastically reduce shrapnel damage from bombs.
On the plus side, aircraft with poor visibility such as the XA38, BJ25 and Ju 188 can aim and drop bombs accurately without risky dives. Do you think this update poses a major threat?
- Restores historical authenticity.
- Buffs underperforming bombers.
- Anti-air units become more important.
- It’s too overpowered — this feature should not be added.
