Why some people like to build ammo box beside rally point?

I am wondering why some people build ammo box beside rally point. Most rally point are built about 40-50m from the cap zone. It is too far for people to get ammo if active fighting is going on. Most of the time there are cover in or nearby the cap zone to build ammo box so why some people want to build it beside rally point?

Because the one who built the rally point needs ammo and sometimes it is in the path to the next capture zone so its useful for the ones who are not fresh spawns, why complain about someone building ammo boxes?

I see this most of the time while defending and it is the first cap zone.

Not complaining, but wondering why building it at such a weird place.

Generally under fire closer to point, the first priority for me is survival not building on point ammo for my team, just being honest! Hence building asap. 50m is better than 0m though right?

I often place an ammo box just to have some out on the field, you dont know when your engi dies to some random explosion so it is better to have some out at the rally than dont have one alltogether.

It is true, but is it practical to run 50m and run back to get some ammo rather than switch to another guy or suicide and spawn a new team? Having a not practical one is similar to have no one.

Depends on the weapon and class you are using and how your team is going, yes it can be bad to invest that time in same cases in other it is better to get new ammo for your gun and invest that time.

Yes it is not the best situation but it gives you an opten to use it or to change your soldier as you sugestet.

Does that ammo box have a sign saying #free ammo # ? No? Then you’ve been stealing someone’s ammo.

For me the most common reason is that I’m missing some ammo on an important weapon. Even if I’m only missing a little bit, I’d rather build an ammo box while it’s safe. Because you never know when you are going to lose the engineer.

I usually try to also place additional boxes at locations more convenient for the team, but that is not always possible or necessary. Sometimes the battle is so one-sided that ammo boxes are pointless. Other times it’s more productive to switch to one of my more combat oriented soldiers, instead of watching them all run around like clowns and die while I build that ammo box that may not even make a difference.

I’ve always thought it was strange but hey atleast they aren’t building BARBWIRE in front of it like I have seen too many times.

There’s this need for the one who built the rally point to actually resupply his remaining squad members.

This, no need to say more.

I build ammo right next to my rally points because I find they look good together.
What? You disagree?
Then build your own rally point mate.

Lol did I say I don’t build it? I build rally and ammo box every time but wonder why people build it besides rally.

But at the start of battle which no resupply is needed?

It does make it easier if I have an SMG premium squad engineer, I’m more likely to build ammo points if so.

Every ammo crate built is better then none.

True, but not answering my question.

Imagine having the chance to build an ammo crate right now which could be a use for people instead of getting killed and have built absolutely none.
I agree with you that it is odd to do so but as I stated before:

An ammo crate built is better then none.

In my experience, I rarely use an ammo box anyway when it is on the field unless I’m defending. Otherwise, I find it far more efficient and dynamic to stay in the fight until I run out if ammo, then grab one of the 20 guns laying around me and keep going.
