It’s possible to already have spent ammo 10 seconds into the match. Otherwise I think it’s probably just people following the rule of “a bad ammo box is better than no ammo box”.
Personally I no longer build them near rally points unless I need ammo for myself, but others may use that logic. The way I see it, life is cheap in Enlisted, usually cheaper than ammo as long as you have a well placed rally point.
Interesting point, but for me I will still build a ammo box at the cap zone that is risky but will be useful rather than build a ammo box at the back, safe but rarely been used.
I always build an ammo box, when i place a rallye point. Itonly takes seconds and so i am sure, that runnning out of ammo is not an option.
I will always build 3 ammo crates. One at the rally, one at the cap and one somewhere outside or depending where the mass is at.

It’s safe and easer to set the ammo box by the rally, I almost always try and set them some distance away from the rally myself because that way you will likely not lose both at once.
The guy building the rally might be playing support as well and not keen on getting to close to the point, when I am using my radio section, just three men, two radios and an engineer I place the rally and stay back and snipe and call in arty so I never really get on point but build the rally as close as can
If I am using my engineer section I get more aggressive with them and set ammo boxes down near the point unless I am building a gun that I set back to engage planes or tanks
Ya, I grab guns more often now than I rearm myself, this is partly do to the fact that often there is no ammo box when you want one
Everytime i cap zone i rush to build rally point near next cap zone. After building rally i might need more ammo so i build it next to rally point before going to cap zone.
It dont help anyone who spawns from that rally but it just for me so i keep fighting
Ya, frankly sometimes my engineer is just to suport my section my MG section needs him for ammo , so while I will build a rally if I can with that section the ammo is placed when and where I need it,
Why do so few players build anything at all?

This game often feels like there are no players in it other than yourself. This kills the motivation to interact with anyone.
Building stuff may be useful if you want to win or do something as antiquated as “have fun”. Except that why would anyone want that when the game does everything in its power to make people just log in for the daily tasks? I’m sure there are those who resist the programming, but it looks like they are an absolute minority.
Well as an engie you get three ammo boxes, I chuck one down on the rally because if its too heated up front we can fall back and reload the more ammo boxes the better.
Like someone said, one ammo box is better than no ammo box.
Does anyone really expect me to ask " where would you like the ammo box?"
When for some reason I cannot build my own, I am more than happy that someone built one at all.
And if there is also a rally point next to this ammo box, then we should probably PAY the player for making an effort for the team.
So yes, please keep building ammo boxes next to the rally point. I , personally, thankyou for your effort.
