Why people don't use smoke?

I play mainly support and using smoke on Normandy makes such a difference…
Got a grey zone tank issue? Then lay smoke in font of your troops for cover!

Seen enemy planes crash as a result. Not to mention DDay is a different matter too.

If it’s level, well 30 on radio squad but still use em, so guess it means people play to kill not support, ah well.

because most don’t know radio man have option to deploy the smoke since Tunisia only
has it.

Others have it now, but its only on radio Operator squad i think which makes it useless

on the one hand it is the fault of the game

  • kill = XP
  • no kill = no xp

on the other hand, it is rare not to find idiots on your team, such as those who try to attack the enemy head-on by jumping and firing with a BA

Yeah, that’s what make it kinda useless. Locked behind Radio Operator squad.

Smoke granade? no one?

That’s because many “smart” ones decide to have 3 assault-only or gunner squads and neglect having a support squad.

only cost of weapon that can kill tanks.

You should add a little more density to the smoke grenade, since you can see the enemy through the smoke. Also, people prefer to carry a fragmentation grenade to do more “kills”.

Yea like you need 34 deatpack for a tank

But i never find people wo use granades I have to shout it in chat that they have to throw grenades in the houses occupied by the enemy many “smart” prefer to be killed as soon as they enter in

Det packs i like it on every soldier also grenade bag is meh compare to ammo and supply bag. Dunno how AI reacts to smoke but i know they have see throe smoke sight.

Exactly, I always see that, the guys enter the house that we have to capture, they kill them, and instead of throwing a grenade to make things easier, NO, they go back in and they die again, god and then they come to the forums crying saying “the allies never win” or “the axis never wins”, daily bread in enlisted.

with the new update the bots do not see through the smoke, so in normandy and berlin smoke grenades are very useful (expecially in ver sur mer/ D-Day)

I don’t mean smoke grenades, I meant artillery, it’s fun to play Normandy nearly got my 410, but smoke Arty is a thing and it works, it can cover far bigger area for assault.

Just used on Saint Lo, allies didn’t know where to shoot, tanks firing blindly, ai blinded lol was great!

i dont want to use artillery squads, i have 1 smoke in each squad just in case but i really never use them bc i dont need it.

Because…

It’s a passive way to play imo, you lay smokes, then you push on a side the enemy know beforehand you gonna push because you smoked there.

Since the death penalty in this game is so low, a die repeat untill success its more profitable than trying to have your soldiers alive at all costs.

You play with all your squads more. You level them faster, you level the campaign faster, and usually get hundreds of kills per match as a bonus, making the game experience above the rest of the scoreboard. Even if loosing, I m gonna get Alot of xp, fun, and game knowlage.
If I choosed the pacive way to play this game months ago, I would probably be here complaining the same, or complaining about grind, lack of weapons, soldiers etc.

Pushing right away with grenades to soft the objective it’s way more profitable for me than laying smokes.

Suit yourself, I lay smoke and still get in top 1-3, saying the squad lacks offence, I have lmg, SMG and sniper so I can adjust game on the fly, I know people don’t use it, there should be xp for kills in smoke (to the user), maybe more would use that class.

The amount of games I turned around due to laying smoke is just unreal.

Smoke arty has the benefit of helping players move in quickly and the bots seem to “disengage” and advance. Its been very useful to me specifically on D day
