Why Enlisted will die if nothing changes

Well… point is that there should be some involvement in the most discussed issues.
For example: there is no point in fixing up dishes not disappearing after table is destroyed, if something bigger is driving away potential playerbase (aka p2w, perks being pretty much Captain America serums etc…) and are discussed a lot.
Don´t get me wrong I agree with you in this one, I don´t really want devs to engage in fights on the forum, that would also shed bad light on things. Its all about just telling us if or how is it being looked at, or whats their point of view/original idea from time to time. Simple as that.

Also, I highly doubt that involvement of Gaijin is to copy paste ignorance from their management in terms of communication in games that belong to them, to indie. Sure, this monetization we have now is pure gaijin (copy paste of top tier p2w from war thunder, to anyone who have doubts, check harrier gr1, pg 02, obj 120 etc., all these have one thing in common… they are purposefully set where they rolfstomp everything else with no effort and for insane purchase prices), I believe that. That is also why we should look at ways how we can at least try to neutralize the worst parts of it.

Of course, this is with my tinfoil hat sitting comfortably on my head, since wild guesses is with this level of communication all, that we have left. All this can also be just an oversight or different vision from darkflow that we have no idea about.

I actually stay in regular touch with my playerbase. Now my game is not nearly as large as Enlisted, but just opening the forums every other day for 10 minutes to read up to the latest discussions that have 20+ replies isn’t too difficult.

For reference, I put around 3500 work hours into my project across the past year, alongside my college work and offtime activities yet talk to my community every night

I mean, what was a small indie studio before Gaijin very likely expanded thanks to Gaijin’s investment.

The math on how many 1-star soldiers it takes to get a 5-star is irrelevent, since you get a lot of random people that have more than 1 star to begin with.

After playing this game for a couple of weeks I’ve gotten up to the level where I have the mortar (lvl 14?) and I now automatically send all 1-star recruits to the rear, and am probably going to start sending 2-star riflemen to the rear just to make room for new recruits. I’ve got several 4-star riflemen and am about to create my first 5-star rifleman, and am piling up lots of 3- and 4-star in the classes that I play a lot. I’ve actually got multiple 4-star dudes that I haven’t played yet, because I’m rotating through some lower ranking guys so I can get them into the academy and clear out some room that way.

So yeah, if you start with all 1-star dudes it might take you months to get all your guys up to 5 stars, but it just doesn’t work that way. You get enough 2-star and 3-star dudes, and often enough, that you can start from those and short-circuit the process a lot. The only thing slowing my progress on cycling through all the riflemen I have is that I’m currently playing a mortarman, several machine-gunners, an engineer, and three anti-tank riflemen, in addition to my starter pack of assaulters and a Pz. IV E tank crew.

I’m not at all satisfied with the logistics section. There needs to be a category only for equipment like grenades, medical packs, explosive packs, etc. Having to roll the dice and still be getting Vz. 24 and M28 guns and whatnot long after none of those lower weapons are still being used is frustrating. I don’t think that that equipment section upgrade plan is very well thought out.

One more thing I’m unhappy with is the weapon upgrade path. Right now I’ve unlocked lvl 2 upgrades on my Panzerbuechse, but I still can’t upgrade it, because it already comes at lvl 2, and I have to research several more points worth and unlock lvl 3 just so I can upgrade it for the first time. That’s kind of stupid. The upgrade path should start already at the level of the weapon as it comes from the factory, so that the first actual upgrade skill that is unlocked actually lets you improve the weapon. I’m assuming the same will be true when I go back and unlock the upgrade path for pre-war K98k and some other weapons.

Thing is, that is entirely luck based. There are plenty of people who rarely get anything else than rank 1 soldiers. Therefore, it is entirely relevant how long it takes to rank things up from scratch.

You havent even gotten 1 rank 5 soldier after weeks of what I asume is active daily grinding. You need 21 to get all squads maxed. So you are going to need 21 times what you have grinded so far to get maxed, which is about a full year.

Actually those squad upgrades dont do anything as the PzB can not be upgraded. They just don’t tell you that. A handful of weapons have no upgrades that can be unlocked, but some weapons can unlock upgrades but simply not apply them

I like everything you said except for giving Russia other allied weapons. Lend Lease or not…seeing a Russian run around with a m1 garand would kill immersion for me. Perhaps they need to make it so each round you switch teams. So 1 map. 2 rounds. That way everyone plays each side. Many games do that.

The progression system…yeah cannot stand it . Love the game so far but that has chash grab written all over it. Making me very leary of devs intentions.

Personally, id MUCH rather pay to play. If need be…each campaign…but it needs to be reasonably priced. Make it so teams rotate so everyone plays each side. Or add game modes like campaign but over large territory kind of like rising storm 2 did. Tug o war game mode kind of.

Actually this is the best idea instead of both teams attacking and defending same point make germans always attack and russian defend but always change the team when a match ends

Well for lend lease it mostly entailed vehicles. Matilda tanks (also modified variants with the F-34 cannon), shermans, stuarts (these would be used for moscow campaign), halftracks (including the quad .50cal AA version, the turret of which could replace the flakvierling for russia). There were a handful of western soldiers that accompanied these vehicles to train russians in operating them.

In my opinion, the 30$ that they are currently asking for moscow campaign sounds reasonable if the progression becomes horizontal (more options, like TF2) instead of vertical (strict upgrades like we have now)

The many games that force team swapping have identical options for both sides. For example, TF2 or overwatch. Meanwhile, in Enlisted you might have godlike equipment for Russia but trash for Germany, or vice versa. Forcing players to play both will only lead to players leaving the match when put into the wrong team, or even leave the game altoghetter.

Mind you, they tried making Russia more appealing by buffing their weapon damage by 20% across the board and it only made more German players quit.

Are you Western yourself? You say Western players have no affinity for the Soviet Union, yet the Soviet Union is my favorite nation.
I’m American, and I fail to understand your perspective. Maybe you just have a particular hatred of Russia or something (really common in America right now, and maybe in Europe as well).

I do not hate the Soviet Union. A lot of players simply prefer to play their own nation, much like you would probably be playing USA when that is available

I’m American and I still stand by it that most people in the US don’t care about the soviet involvement in WWII. American players, when presented with all the major powers to play as, will usually opt for the US or Germany because it’s the Western Front that’s the most well-known to them by far.

Just for the record, I will not be playing USA when it’s available.

Really unfortunate that my country has to be so ignorant. I guess I have to blame our inadequate education system, I don’t know

Just that you won’t play USA doesn’t mean that at least 75% of Americans will. And there are a whole lot Americans than Russians on this planet.

That’s what I’m saying. I love playing overlooked nations like Italy, but I know what the status quo is.

Of course one of the reasons I prefer Gaijin’s approach is that you can see something other than the western front for a change.

The single biggest issue is indeed progression. With faster soldier progression in particular, I guarantee you that most of the other problems will become insignificant. Especially the issue of newer players suffering, as that phase of suffering will be far shorter.

What a fantastic post! I agree with everything. Right now, Soviets lose constantly, even on Eastern Euro servers. I’m like level 14 soviet, premium Soviet squad, all ppds with drums - I have like 12 of them, like 7 Madsens, etc. All nicely leveled, and geared. So I know what Im saying.

GE side is way overpowered. For example, lets take Pz2 - insane spam, constantly. The tank is perfect for type of fighting in this game - super machine gun tank. 3 tank crew. Insane armor model - where nothing freaking pens it. Etc. And that’s just a LEVEL 1 tank Germans get. What do Soviets get? A trash, until maybe Bt-7, even that is trashy. And level 12. Germans get super smg - basically best one - the MP38 at level 5. Soviets have to grind to level 12!!! to reach a decent smg. Etc etc etc. Way overpowered German faction, is the main reason.

Nerf German tanks, and maybe move MP-38 unlock up to level 7-10.

But mainly - German tank spam is insane.

russia has low player base plus their rifles do more damage than german ones already

I honestly don’t want to play your game anymore, Devs. You better balance things out, it is impossible to play it as SU. German developers way overpowered their beloved German side lol

Or look at uniforms. Germans get super nice green, and olive, and gray blue. Soviets get WHITE, BLUES, reds. LOL I mean honestly - Devs play their own game? Soviet Sniper squad is dressed in ALL WHITE hahaha. Snipers are supposed to be invisible - but Soviet snipers literally stand out on ANYTHING lolol

I can go and on with the disbalances. The problem is probably German developers being super sweet to their beloved Germany. Or something. It is so blatantly favoring German side. It’s insulting.

Tank balance is debatable. I’ve killed Soviet starter tanks with the German ones and vice versa. But anything after the starter tank with Germany is worse. So, tank balance is debatable.

Please state another example in which the any of the German equipment is better than the Soviet ones. I’m curious.
