This is starting to get really annoying but a huge chunk of teams are manned by inexperienced conscripts that don’t even build rally points and don’t know how to defend a single cap by camping on a building across the street that’s not even the cap point at all. Even worse is the buildings makes shit players even more shittier with the try hard Vasily Zaytsevs thinking this is a team deathmatch while the German team seems to have people squad up together even worse with many full access owners prioritize Germany. Soviet mains who have full access like myself trying to win in Stalingrad with all they got deserve the title Hero of the Soviet Union for such a situation.
Stalingrad is a huge reminder of the importance of rally points and don’t just stick on one as one rally point bottlenecks with teammates dying fast and not even building another one to allow the others to spawn faster. Also use the goddamn building where the cap is with the upper floors and stuff especially when its on some apartment building or such!!!
My humble guess is that recent unlocks across campaigns were “meh” for axis players and they decided to converge in Stalingrad where stuff is rather balanced. Mp43 nerf and op Fedorov might be one of the reasons… But it’s just a guess. Stalingrad is truly fantastic thought.
i have 4 games a s soviet and 14 games as axis. i always end up in the shittiest teams but from the few games i played as soviet i won 3/4 and with germans i have 33% win rate, I think most new players pick germans or they are bots when on the other hand i’ve only played with good players on the soviet side (might be luck and again only 4 games)
the reason i don’t play soviet much as there isin’t a lot of equipment i look forward to unlock after 3 games i already was lvl 10 with an upgraded t34, while with the germans there is the MKB42 to unlock at the end of the campaign
Well you luck better than mine. Out of 6 games I’m at 33% win ratio as soviets. Teams are just horrible. They care more about stat padding than attacking objectives
Dont forget that its not just “bad players” there are other reasons too, eg there is a current issue with the Mosin Sniper rifle’s aim being “off” and in my limited experience 9 out of 10 games are “Defence” mode for Soviets which in general can be demoralising as one is most genearally going to loose eventually given an equal balance.
Losing a few times in a row is doable but 7 or 8 gets dull. Eventually I lose the will to put my best effort in and simply wait to farm points as the conclusion is mostly inevitable.
Stalingrad is groovy but needs a little work, which is to be expected.
tldr? Its not just players that are at fault here nor is it the game design but a mixture of both. A vicious cirlce
If you didn’t buy “Stalingrad - The Money Grab Edition” you possibly don’t have more than 1 squad with an engineer. The whole unlock system/paywall has been designed by bean counters not people who game.
Most of the new stuff on the Soviet side in Stalingrad are actually vehicles but people are hogging tank slots with T-70s instead of letting someone who has a T-34 or a KV-1 join the fight to deal with enemy tanks. I already have PPSh squads to atleast balance out the match and even won some of them after clearing buildings with PPSh but the problem is carrying an entire team has it’s limits where it depends on how the enemy team is doing.
In my case, the new campaign with its maps are the one I’m more after at instead of new toys even though I like the T-34s and the KV-1 despite people love to kamikaze against those tanks. Sure its the third campaign with my main squads having almost the same guns especially PPSh across three Eastern Front campaigns but the maps are the ones that made the experience feel different imo.
I have played dozens of games on the Soviet side since the update and almost always lose with these results.
I’m sure it’s a time of day issue (time of day when people from the big red East Asian countries are playing… they like the Germans because of the shape of their helmets).
Not like the grind on German side is 95% copy+paste again and doesnt even include Romanian and Hungarian squads (which is the main reason aside the KV why I didnt start with Axis there).
