Because the Axis infantry weapons are new and better than the soviet ones, I doubt it’s much to do with axis mains. I play both sides depending on the campaigns and just by looking at the infantry weapon list of stalingrad it was clear that the axis side is more interesting and way more powerful. So I went with ze germans and i guess many others too.
I mean, you get MKB, PPSH & Kiraly and the soviets get the breda. More powerful tanks / planes are fine but due to the map design not so relevant to actually winning 80% of the time.
And the PPSh, DT, (DP) and SVT Sniper.

10 slots for infantry, i have 2 slots for ppsh41, 1 for Engineers 2 whit M1918
1 for radioman, 1 for AVS36, 2 whit plane and 2, whit tanks (t34 and kv1)
24 batles still on soviet side but not bad… but one thing im certain, i m not interested in soviet side at all. havent spend silver orders on same old weapons there, and i play with only bolt actions on that side. more than enough.
dunno whats the main cause but:, what i notice is maps favor atack side

always defending in this game gets boring fast

Started as axis only so spended like 200 silver orders on every soldier/squad, i dont have or intend to save to do the same on soviet side.
also, defending is boring in stalingrad.
PS: defencive maps suck.
I haven’t played Stalingrad much lately as have to unlock some stuff in Moscow and Berlin. Sure have some really sweaty moments like the only reason why the team won is because I have PPSh squads doing a huge part of the killing alongside me actually pushing plus rally points. It’s just not feasible for me to have 3 PPSh squads in Stalingrad because 1 of them being a medic squad and just not enough ammo to do the job well without ammo boxes.
Went back to Berlin where I have been leveling the Assaulter III squad and got my third PPSh squad there. I feel like Berlin is much more complete with the map selection than Stalingrad despite missing Reichstag and Ubahn as the map selection in Stalingrad feel the same with no winter maps and still missing some iconic areas like Pavlov’s House, Mamayev Kurgan and the Factory District.
Atleast we even have battles outside the city center itself with the introduction of the Seelow Heights area.
