What’s the reason of those “””competitive””” events? Are they really needed ? - honest question

I know, this might be a pointless “ talk “ to the air.

But I have some serious questions about some rather questionable game life decisions.

As I stated multiple time, I think I do like competitive games. Experience some challenges against real players can be satisfy sometimes. But in enlisted, it’s totally another story.
It just remind me how unfortunately boring and limited this game can be.

And I’ll start by saying that I’m reaching the 100th place. So I’m not that bad in this event, but there are many, many issues.

You see, usually, in other competitive games, things works differently.
Take in consideration siege, valorant, overwatch, cs go, they all have somewhat a linear “system” based on having roughly a similar equipment, and outplay your opponents. But above all, there’s usually a matchmaker based on skills.

Nothing of what is written above is present in enlisted.
I swear, I’m trying to have fun, but it’s just abnoxious. I flailed to see who should be interested ( or also called the target of audience ) about this competitive system.
Because enlisted due to its nature, it is, and will remain an arcade and casual game.

For my experience, it has become a contest on who uses the assaulters more, build rally points and rushes the point first. Doing the same thing over and over.

It’s just… Sad…
Worst part is, majority of The matches are being won by the Germans because we get putted against soviets that are not at the same level of skills and equipment.

It’s just a steamroll. My average match length has become of 7 minutes with 54 kills.

On the other hand, if you play Russians, you will face more stronger foes just cluttered by Germans.

I wouldn’t say that this is rigged, but I can definitely assure that I don’t get the fact either of releasing an event in a campaign that basically only “ premium “ users who bought the pac even can be barely interested in.

Because free to play users, there are, but not many, and I don’t blain them.

Also, only 4/5 maps that objects most of the time are shared because it’s only technically one “big” map?

So, to rap this thing up, is this a failed attempt to bring free to player on?
Is this just a saddistic show to see who uses the most gun meta in those matches? Supposed to be a gun run ?

Like, in my personal opinion rewards aren’t that great either. But that’s more of a personal opinion. But what I see and understand, is that this whole event just bring out the worst of people. Just watching people screaming at each other because something does not go right so they start to insult each other. It’s honestly buffling.

I hope there are reasons on why those needless events exist in the first place.
I really hope it’s to somewhat gather data’s and stuff on something, but it’s just like a Wellington meat more raw than medium.

( by the way the score board system still doesn’t refresh properly… )

Same event as last time, same half backed stuff, still Same issues.

I can have the patience of this world, but I still don’t understand.

Oh well, but what do I know.

The point that I wanted to make is, I believe in enlisted. Otherwise I would have supported it up to this moment, and stacked long for 2 years on it.

But I don’t think it’s a wise idea to diverge resources and put focus on those competitive events when the game or self, it ain’t even polished.

Quite frankly, it is a bit alarming that in a beta we still focus in competitive Events instead of polishing the game.

Add shovels to all campaigns, movable at, and all the on going list of features announced and somewhat finished or not for some campaign but not available in the entire game.

Can I add that limited time frames alone automatically exclude a portion of players from even taking part in the event?

That’s one thing as well.

So we want to split the player base even more?

At what point. And why,

I have played few games for silver and stoped. This event is frag racing, no fun at all.

I’d say its to bring attention to the new campaign however it appears to be bringing the wrong attention. Its a paid campaign so those who bought it are undoubtedly better off, the German player base is stronger causing steam rolls for one side and its only been out what? Two weeks? Hope everyone was ready!

No it doesn’t make alot of sense from my point of view

Short answer
NO!
Long answer
In other games with a competitive multipleyer, these types of events are accompanied by exclusive rewards (such as weapons and special currency) that make players compete with each other without restrictions except the level of the player that makes it possible or not to participate against other players, and in the end a hall of fame of the aforementioned game is created through the results of the event, but in Enlisted,The answer is NO! does not make sense this type of event, given the absence of the aforementioned rewards and the time block of the event wo half the already less playerbase wo can play it.

Honestly, I simply dislike the idea of an event locked to one campaign.
Not saying warthunder event are good, but they’re definitely better than this crap. Even the damn crafting events.

Don’t you dare bringing WT events as a positive example, ever.

Sad thing is, they are actually better than whatever this garbage is meant to be.
At least in wt, you can do them to some degree. From the current one, I’m gonna get a free rank 1 premium. From the current Enlisted event, I’m not gonna get anything cause it’s locked to a campaign i do not care about.

I think dev is just promoting the full access pack in another way…
Also, beside lack of skill base matchmaking.
I am astonished to know that event still keep the group functions…
I know lots of my friends/chatgroup members group together just because of group is so powerful to fight/win. Like Dead by Daylight, group is some kind of “cancer”. A grouped 4 players is much more powerful than probably 8 random team members…

Also, this game’s attacking team’s tickets cost…
The more players left the match, the higher cost to respawn remaining players.
In regular match, there will be bots to compensate DCs. But event match force pure humans…
So if one side has 5 quitters… Each respawn will cost 25 instead of what should be 12.5.

However, I am OK with event. If they use this to improve their match making/balance data. Still E-sport is a big no no for this game.

Events are required. I support any interesting initiative from game developers (no matter what the game) because it shows, in one way or another, that the game hasn’t been developed, launched on a market stuffed with microtransactions and forgotten forever.

BUT - events just for sake of events? No, it’s just a waste of resources.

I will say frankly - events must be endlessly rewarding. I would be attracted to such an event precisely because of the rewards, because in that way we would try to get them in order to pay for our time. Name it: gold packs, monthly premium, gold orders, exclusive weapon skins, squads ect.(like they did in fiery events), but they are very afraid to share such great gifts for players, so the event becomes gray and pointless to sacrifice our time.

The other thing is that it would be infinitely cool if such events happened every month. It would become a tradition for the whole community to wait, prepare and test for different loadouts, armament, weapons and the like. Everyone would be hyped as hell. But all this randomness, it will be interesting for someone, but someone will not even notice, because there is not even any hype building effect they should do in social media.

Its always the same players on top of the event board since they got all the stuff and (no life-ing the campaign) i did see relay fast that i had to switch to German team to win, and not getting STG-41 spammed at spawn.

Man this even is rigged to the bone, cheating is supper appealing now and that only to keep yourself in the top 10% to get the permanent name tag decal instead of the timely 60d ones.

BTW, they got there timing wrong again, i am waiting to participate but its still locked.
its way past 14:00

Competitive events only expose this game’s shortcomings, the same way solo fighters mode does. I think it ultimately comes down to most interactions (of any kind) with other players being negative rather than positive or even neutral. That’s one hell of a problem for an online PvP game to have.

Precisely.
Seriously I’m not even participating. I play to relax and let some steam out… I don’t want matches that “make me sweat” all the time.

There could be a permanent leaderboard section for those giving importance to k/d and such data… But it’s not for me, nor is this event 🤷

Im sorry but going thru this thread just makes me shake my head at the points being made.

If I wasn’t at work using mobile I would be quoting many arguments and contesting them because they are missing the mark, straight up wrong or misunderstood.

I enjoy them.

What ever campaign what ever side. I always try to climb on the leaderbords as much I can.

Also, for the guy that stated teaming up with others and do squads to enter the event, it’s a huge mistake on this particular event.

One thing I m certain, timezone the event its kinda dull, I rather see the events with a certain batles per day alowed. But either way, it shows that there is enough playerbase to fill events and campaigns with games.

Maybe, just maybe, there is a huge playerbase, mostly bad players but it’s there.

enlight us then

well, seeing how you play, doesn’t make much of a difference to you.

mostly smgs, bunny hopping and such.

which i don’t have much else to add.

you do you, and that is fine.

but is it really what we need right now?

like, the game it self.

how can you focus on ““competitive”” events when half of the stuff doesn’t even work properly.

sure, it’s a beta. and yada yada yada.

but again, it’s buffling to see people on twitch struggling to even destroy a bloody airplane while emptying half of the rounds at mid range.

soldiers falling inside buildings beyond savable while still remaining stuck underground.

grenade spam everywhere.

is this what devs have in mind?

another COD but more bugged?

isn’t the market full of those?

idk.

i was expecting a bit more.

personally, i think i’m a bit satured of run and gun games. hence why i made this post. but dunno.

i still fail to see the whole point of these events and why those are a thing in the first place.

P.S:

Btw, Happy easter :egg:

Fun fact is that everyone says they not participate,

Yet the leader board is full and even some got spotted/busted standing in the top 25, while they were the once complaining and said they did not like nor play it.

They have a name for those kind of people “hypocrites”!

well, with all respect i don’t really care about hypocrites.

they can do whatever they want.

but the problem is, the question above still remain unanswered.
and “recently” finding out that people cheated out to reach certain positions on the leaderboard with just medics should ring some bells.

like, what’s the point of making competitive events when the campaign has been barely tested resulting in those incidents?

are really that needed those competitive events to a point of being the first event of every new campaign just introduced?

especially on stalingrad where there’s quite a huge gap between players of levels and ownership?
( referring to dlc owners and free to play players )
like, playing free to play stalingrad i find it insane. but it’s people choice.
but at least give them 3/4 months to prepare?

no?
anything at all?
have people in the team gone crazy/mad?
they all just gaved up?

but well… i’m just repeating my self at this point.
and yet, still no one have a good argument or explanation about those events.

i suppose mr chicky doodles disagrees, which it’s fine i guess.
but still hasn’t explained anything? or gaved a different insight?
so… yeah, not to sound a jerk, but that doesn’t mean much to me.
same as shivex, although he made more sense. he likes it. he likes being on a leaderboard.
but i’m afraid that’s not good enough for me.
