What motivates you to play?

I have finished all my research trees in the US, Germany and the USSR.
I am playing only Japan now because I did not grind Japan at all. My goal is to train Japanese faction for now.
There are probably many players who have finished the grind of all faction, what is your goal in playing?
Is it just for fun? Or training new squads?

Neverending struggle and suffering.

Are you playing games to suffer pain? Are you a masochist?

Nope, to escape from it.

my thoughts.

Sometimes I imagine the beautiful landscape of Moscow and I can’t resist.

i wish devs would focus in making the game as authentic as possible. This is the only thing missing for me in this game

Yeah, I can understand.
Right now I am training a Japanese army, and to tell you the truth, a Japanese army in a virtual world is an unnecessary part of my life.
But… after a while of not playing the game, I too am reminded of the beautiful scenery of Moscow. When the game starts, the surroundings are covered with a deep fog, and as you approach the first CP, the fog clears to reveal a blue sky and a silver world. It is absolutely beautiful.
Or the Tunisian sunset, or the rain waving over Stalingrad. It reminds me of flying a Stuka over Berlin, running along the coast of Guadalcanal with a bolt action rifle, and many other things.
There are so many problems with this game, but at the same time there are gem moments that always bring me back to the game.

Mostly events, also it gives me something to do while I drink. Not like I have a social life outside work. Having the wrong opinions in the US won’t get you arrested, yet, probably, but talking about them will make people stop associating with you. Also, I have a tendency to state my opinion when it is unwanted, inappropriate, or unnecessary; just like I’m doing now.

Eastern Front WW2 aesthetics.
Literally the only FPS game I know where you can drive a T-34, then shoot a PPSh-41 and then fly an IL-2 defending Stalingrad, as weird as it sounds given that those were like 75% of all WW2.

Crushing full teams of good players while I myself have a total noob team.

Yes its a struggle, and most of the time impossible to pull off, there are too many players that legitimately are worse than AI - still, when it happens I prove to myself that I am a Ubermensch.

Feels good.

GRIND. that’s what keeps me playing

leisure and time wasting
I can’t think of anything more wasteful in life than playing this game
But now this game just makes my blood pressure soar
So I only play seriously when there are activities

Too deep in the rabbit hole at this point.

Just casually playing for fun, as I’ve researched all but Japan aswell. When an event is around I’ll usually grind it, as I’m a sucker for unique squads (dreading for the next mentally draining event grind). I’m also finishing foldered vehicles and weapons but I’m not in a rush and I occasionally dabble on custom matches.

I get to shoot cool grandpa gat, some I didn’t even know existed before.

This game is still the WW2 sandbox shooter I’ve always wanted. Whenever I imagined what I really want from that sort of game after various disappointments this was basically finally it. Like a rebirth of the classic Battlefield games or the shadowed Forgotten Hope mod

LF, but I don’t think I want to play since they don’t want to stop people abusing initiating kicks. I am having more fun with RS2, because at least the bullets go where I aim them to go…
