Since the big merge, I am not at interested in the grind anymore, everyone uses the same kit all the time it seems now, P38, IAR80, a lot less diversity.
Basically it’s just for the kill.
Playing Germany is kind of drag now also, never see Tunisa anymore basically, a lot of maps I never realy cared for before are now forced on me.
Japan is Fun but I need a break from it once in a while so I try one of the other factions.
I still Play each day, and I enjoy it, but the game is on the whole less interesting than before.
I hear you. A lot of my squads are sort of in that category but I also run my Volkssturm with Lebel, the Moroccan squad, Japan event squad with flags, the Flakpanzer, Greyhound and some other stuff to keep it interesting even though I could have more powerful kit. It doesn’t mean every match will be fun but at least there’s variety.
To me, it’s kind of like a dream game in a sense, with a few major flaws, but still really impressive, nonetheless.
It shares a lot with Easy Red 2, which can already be thought of as a modernized Battlefield 1942, but it also has buildable fortifications, destructive/modifiable terrain, a plethora of World War 2 equipment, has incredible graphics, all for free (the game itself, not the microtransactions). Another thing is that this is the only multiplayer game I can enjoy without being self-conscious about my latency.
I also don’t have to worry about weapon-breaking “balance” updates (things like "it now takes a full clip from beginner bolt-actions to kill someone. It’s happened before in other games I’ve played).
But yes, I just play for fun (and maybe even the stories of some matches along the way).
At this point I play only to be allowed to post here and to check out updates.
I don’t have time for 2nd job I have to pay for. Also the game is less fun with each* update but I guess it’s me issue.
I have unlocked everything and have over time conditioned myself to need to have a some personal objective to grind towards. And most of the half way interesting squads, weapons and vehicles are fully grinded.
Also with not being able to save full lineup presets & swap BR conveniently (but need to either swap out squads and/or manually swap out equipment) and with only two effective BRs leaving most of the equipment feel kinda redundant, I’m slowly losing interest.
Not enough content, not enough point or convenience in using existing unlocked content.
for me, are mods.
and the editor that keeps me going.
lots of interesting stuff, lots of issues to resolve, and not so many rewards.
but, it keeps the community going too ( at least, that small % ).
and almost done completing some long awaited-in-work mods.
if it wasn’t for AI tanks giving troubles. like, german AI tanks do works, but other nations do not. i must be doing something wrong. ( unless the code i keep using is only available for one tank and not all the others )
but yeah, every now and then happens that " dry " seasons of just deafening silence and not much else to do for the average and veteran’s players alike.
so, that’s kinda normal for people to go away for a bit and look elsewhere and eventually ( if they do ) return.
ayyy same thing for me.
but i can’t be bothered to grind japan right now as it’s my last faction ( and kinda least favorite faction ) for a complete grind. ( even though, from what i heard, now is the moment )
same, now my motivation is getting Type Hei Automatic.
Im 160 000 xp from it, but Im frustrated rather than hyped because I wont be able to get that much XP until saturday with how my week looks like.
I usually set a goal for myself and go chase it, thats it.
This is a fun game and the grind makes you play even more than you actually want to
I play this becacuse i like the lone figthers mode (Custom games)
because is a different experience in the game and i want to suffer meanwhile im grinding because i didin´t get to much xp but stills funny
