It’s frustrating that the Il‑10 at BR‑5 still only carries two 250 kg bombs. It could have been fitted with four rockets with HE power comparable to 152 mm shells, just like the Bf‑110G‑2, yet this option is locked out.
I can’t help wondering if DF’s devs got tired of getting blown up by rockets themselves. Maybe that’s why they seem reluctant to give strong rocket ordnance to factions other than the US.
BR III? I use my Ju87 D-3, 3x 250kg bombs.
BR V? Do 335 A-1, 2x 250kg + 1x 500kg bombs.
They gleefully fick scheiß up.
But yes where are the german planes that absolute hoarded rockets?
I know there should be some slower flying planes that came with like 6-10 rockets on them…
And the russians and allies call in rocket artillery, where’s germany getting to call in the V-Bombs?
German air support is severely lacking and nowhere near as deadly as America’s.
US aircraft have the highest damage ceiling in the whole game. The positive reception of the Kugelblitz partly proves this point.
As for the American Skink, aside from mediocre penetration on its 20 mm cannons, DF also harshly nerfed its magazine down to only 20 rounds. This makes it perform far worse than the BMPT and M13 anti‑air vehicles.
Japanese and German air threats are generally not that intense. The Kugelblitz is valued mainly because there are swarms of US planes. But when using the Skink, enemies mostly only drop ordinary bombs. Even two 250 kg bombs from the Bf‑110 are not devastating; regular AA‑guns can handle them easily. That leaves the Skink with very little to counter.
If the Bf‑110G‑2 rockets were still kept at BR‑3, the Skink would be an extremely popular vehicle.
