WE NEED BETTER MAPS AND LESS MEATGRINDER (part 3)

This is a Part 3 section of my pushed suggestion We need better maps (The end?)

Why am I doing this for the THIRD TIME???

I am going to make these as long as possible before devs do something. Let’s see a recap of what happened last time:

Last time, me and a couple of other players convinced devs into looking at making more Large and more Open maps.

In this topic, I will cross-examine all the invasion maps. I won’t do it for conquest maps but I will say all the conquest maps are AWFUL except ‘‘Chateau du Bosq’’ and maybe ‘‘ruins of vaux’’ which is a nice map

Let’s go

1. Vysokovo village

This is the first invasion map ever added to Enlisted, it’s also the worst one.
At the first capture point, there is a trench located on a weird position so it is being used as a PATH between the 2 teams.
Leaving the trench will result into getting immediately shot so both teams are constantly jumping into the meatgrinder. The use of anything other than SMG is useless on the first capture point.

The second capture point is better but still not perfect, the biggest problem is the capture circle being located inside the small house. My opinion is re-locate the circle to be positioned between the 3 houses so defenders can actively use all 3 surrounding buildings to defend while attackers can raid those buildings before capturing

The third capture point is the best one on this map but still bad. It’s located inside a barn. To capture this, attackers have little cover, in order to capture this, attackers have to use tank support and smoke grenades, it’s a nice point but again located inside and not outside makes it a meatgrinder

The fourth and fifth capture points are TERRIBLE and DISGOUSTING.
Fights turn into countless dying and blood is all over the place

Now players are inside a small village and it’s extremely hard to use anything other than the SMG and maybe MG.

The biggest issue on this map is the lack of open fields and spawns are located very close to each other

2. Monastery

This is one of the best maps in Enlisted but I’m still going to examine it because of the last capture point

First 3 capture points are very nicely made, there is some long range combat but still not enough.
The biggest issue with those capture points is that capture zones are AGAIN located inside buildings which promotes the use of SMG’s

The fourth capture point is separated into TWO PARTS.

The first part is when attackers are crossing the river which is okay as it promotes the use of MG’s, Snipers and rifles.

The second part is AWFUL, it’s when both attackers and defenders already built a spawn point TEN METERS AWAY FROM THE CAPTURE ZONE and everyone starts jumping like crazy inside the meatgrinder.

The last capture point is THE FATHER OF ALL MEATGRINDERS
The lack of windows forces defenders to barricade themselves inside the monastery while attackers can’t do anything other than jumping inside the monastery through that tiny door.

The balcony is useless because attackers spawn too close to be sprayed from the balcony so it forces everyone to jump inside the monastery and PAINT THE ROOM RED

3. D-day

This map is open and nice, the only issue being capture zones AGAIN being located inside bunkers so it promotes the meatgrinder.

The last capture zone is the worst of them all

Other than that, this map is okay

4. Le Bre Invasion

This map is loved and hated by me
The first capture zone is located again inside a small village but very few players have SMG squads and SMG’s on Normandy are mostly trash so it’s not as painful as Moscow

The third spawn point is very cool done but other than that, it’s close quarters mostly

5. One last thing

I suggest for maps to not be only located inside villages but open fields too. I am happy the maximum number of SMG’s per squad is going to be reduced but maps are still very small and 99% of all the combat is CQC

People will find ways to use SMG and MGs even if the maps are wider. There is also the option for engineer MG nests which can fire virtually non-stop. And the more disgusting AA and AT cannon against infantry build on top of a hut.

First step is to reduce the amount of SMGs and MGs in matches really. Which I doubt is happening as the devs have already messed it up with the premium squads. I hope they get to see it’s effects once the game becomes free.

From my experience on Normandy, SMG is useless on bigger maps

And if you read the news, devs will reduce the number of SMG’s to 3 per assault squad
But the most major problem are maps and especially on Moscow

I didn’t read because it is long and I am tired but I would love a tank orientated map that allows much more then only 2 tanks per team. Tank combat in this game is pretty fun and I’d love to see more of it.

Kursk?

That would be a whole campaign with a tank focus, I was thinking just a open part of the Moscow map. But Ya sure, Kursk could be fun.

Maybe add an open part and allow for more tanks to spawn but keep the infantry

Right now, pretty much any type of map size increase is good

We have war thunder for it

shhhh I’m trying to turn this game into war thunder with infantry

Its a joke

Not the case for me, at least with my M3 most engagements are in range or avoidable.

I get more kills with rifles

Maybe it’s just that we have different playstile

Rifles are preferable yeah, but the M3 is perfectly usable yet.

SMG is okay on big maps but rifle is better

Which just shows that making maps bigger is going to destroy SMG meta in Moscow and hopefully bring it to the Normandy level

Having just 2 or 3 open maps on Moscow should fix the whole thing.

Like for Le Bri, SMGs and especially shotguns are still king, but I wouldn’t want to take nothing but shotguns because they’re pretty useless during the other invasions.

Basically every map has some meatgrinder areas

We have to wait for OBT for more players to come and complain

You’re always going to have some meatgrinders for as long as objectives are handled the way they are.

To avoid a meat grinder, objectives need to change from “everyone dogpile this point” to something spread out and action-focused like “destroy this artillery battery”

or can have area like rising storm 2 a big area …or what ever you suggested is fine enough maybe like insurgency too

I was thinking about just moving the capture zone outside the building but your idea amazed me!!!
