This is the gun i’m talking about. So, the recent ‘Making Enlisted a Better Place №75’ made some changes on MP-40. Which has increased RoF from 500 → 550(630 RoF when fully upgraded), but MP 41 couldn’t get the change. Now you may say ‘hey, that’s completely normal because it’s a different gun’, but let me explain that why MP 41 also should get it’s RoF changed.

As you can see here, the MP 41 is a gun that’s bascally a hybrid between MP 40 and MP 28. What we should note here is that it basically has an identical upper receiver to MP 40, which means that it should share the same RoF, as many other sources also stated. So MP 41 should get it’s RoF increased to 630 RoF as well at the very least. But, i want to talk more about this other than the RoF increase alone, let me explain.
So the description says that MP 41 has a faster RoF and a better automatic fire accuracy compared to MP 40, which is not true anymore especially the faster RoF part. Compared to old MP 40 RoF which was 570 RoF when upgraded, MP 41 used to have 20 more RoF than MP 40. I would like to this to be transferred into a better RoF, which should be 650 RoF. Another thing i’d like to be implemented is that ‘better automatic fire accuracy due to a fixed wooden stock’ part. This is somewhat implemented by having a less recoil than MP 40 but the actual dispersion is still 70, which is the same as MP 40. I think this could be improved a bit as well. Also it’s not that much, but this gun also supports a semi-auto firing mode(Thanks to MP 28 lower receiver), so yeah.
So in summary, i want three things to be done on MP 41 :
Rate of fire increased from 590 to 650(or 630, if giving it 650 RoF turns out to be difficult)
Dispersion value decreased from 70 to 50
Faster reload speed, from 2.5 secs to 2.1 secs(same as MP 40)
I think these changes would make this gun more interesting to use and wouldn’t negatively impacts the game balance. As there are still far better BR 2 SMGs around and this gun is quite rare as it’s limited to a discontinued premium squad back in the day.
I must agree with @Slakrrrrrr as I cannot find any MP40 sources among those that I have used so far that would confirm a specifically higher fire rate for the MP41.

finally the 500 rpm claim is maintained by Modern Firearms as well.
According to Солдат на фронте №48 - Пистолет-пулемет MP 38,40 OCR and The German Submachine Guns by L. Haywood the inner mechanism is identical to that of the MP40, so there is no excuse to give this gun a fire rate higher than that of the MP40. Though to be honest, I would like the MP41 to keep its unique fire rate which was always different from the MP40.
The only mention I did find claiming a fire rate higher than 500 rpm was on Axis forum, without a proper source, though it was likely taken out of a book (an inaccurate one at that anyway. MP41 was still made by Haenel in in early 1944, even though they stopped making MP40s in 1943).

My final verdict is that the MP41 should be buffed with a reload speed buff: 2.1s (Same reload time as the MP40) from 2.5
Recoil and dispersion buffs could also be considered.
However, the fire rate buff is baseless.
I’m willing to let it slide 20 more RoF for a gameplay/flavor reason, i think MP 40 having 630 RoF now is already kinda pushing it but as long as MP 41 gets some buff i’d be fine with it. If it gets the same RoF as MP 40 then on top of that, i wish it gets the same reload speed as MP 40 as well, from 2.5 secs to 2.1 secs reload speed.
MP 40 supposedly had 500-550 RoF, the devs took the 550 RoF which is the best possible RoF for MP 40 and made it as it’s base RoF(630 RoF now with upgrade). MP 41 RoF is kinda all over the place, some sources says that it’s 500 RoF and some other sources says that it’s 600 RoF. I wouldn’t mind MP 41 having a bit more RoF due to this since i’m not the IRL gun performance for Enlisted absolutists, i’m willing to accept some deviation for gun stats for a gameplay reason as long as it’s not overly deviated from the IRL gun performance.
But the faster reload speed you suggested here makes sense. I should have included this in the first place, an oversight on my part.
I strongly agree. Amid the progressive obsolescence of founder weapons such as the M2 Hyde and PPK-41, the MP41 was the only weapon that held an advantage over TT weapons. At least in BR2, the merit of using it has been eliminated by this update.
Well, it didn’t exactly have an advantage over MP40 to begin with since this belongs to an old premium squad that can have 6 maximum soldiers with only 4 being assaulters(Prem assaulter squads like this usually comes with 4 assaulters with 1 engi equipped with also an SMG), and the fact that Assaulter 4 classes are so much better than these premium assaulters due to the base 12% reload speed perk which could be stacked on top of another 12% reload speek perks.
