The Union à canon de 101 mm pistol of the brand “UNION” is a semi-automatic pistol produced by the French gun manufacturer Marcel Seytres. The most striking feature is a so-called “horseshoe magazine”, which gives the pistol an unmistakable appearance.
The first pistols had a six-round magazine, which corresponded to the capacity of revolvers. With the extension of the pistol grip, Marcel Seytres was able to offer models with nine-round magazines, which had a certain commercial success and were sold under various brand names of several well-known French gun manufacturers.

To further increase the magazine capacity, Marcel Seytres first developed a straight 25-round magazine, which protruded far beyond the handle and made the pistols unwieldy. Since the extension of the magazine on this model had reached its limits due to the design of its models with a 7.65 mm Browning case, Marcel Seytres subsequently developed a curved magazine with a higher capacity for 35 rounds.
