The Type 38 rifle in game is the early version, unlike the Type 99, the later version of Type 38 was produced from the interwar period until 1942.

Since Type 38 rifle(early) is already the best bolt action rifle in br1 , this variant deserve to be added as br2 TT weapons, because it has better sights and good rate of fire.

I still think the type 44 would fit well here in place of this weapon, but having a solid BR II weapon with a higher rate of fire than 48- 52 is needed. Something has to be added with a ROF above 54 at BR II.

Or just update type 99 rifles to normal fire rate like 38 rifle?
It is of the same action after all.

I’d love to see this rifle in the game. Just make sure it’s not added in place of something more important and necessary.

I do not like those kinds of very closed sights, making it lose shots due to lack of vision since it is difficult to target moving targets.

I don’t think this would make sense as being a better Type 38. Although aperture sights are better than open sights in real life, in video games like Enlisted they end up being worse instead. The hooded front sight of the late Type 38 would probably also be worse in the game. In addition, a late era construction Type 38 was probably built to a lower standard/polish than something like an early prewar Type 38 so you probably can’t justify it having better handling like accuracy or rate of fire ingame.

could buff the early type 38 and make it BR2 then add the late type 38 for BR1

It’s best not to touch it. It’s currently the only playable weapon in Japan’s 1 BR.

If you move the early type 38 up and then put the late type 38 in BR1 with the original stats of the current type 38, then the situation at BR1 remains the exact same

I’m afraid the developers might take this opportunity to nerf its stats. Soviet mains are really crying over this rifle.

As someone that primarily played Soviets when they had exclusively and only OP equipment in low BR (all factions are nearly maxed as of now) I can say I have zero issues with this weapon. Even now, I don’t come across anyone using it (effectively that is). Maybe I’m just unlucky to get paired with player that have them?
