Type 1 TERA Rifle🇯🇵

86 Sem Título_20251225123511

The Type 1 TERA Rifle was developed for the paratroopers of the Imperial Japanese Army (Teishin Shudan) Based on the Type 38 cavalry carbine.

While it generally copied the mechanism of the Karabiner 98k “Klappschaft” , it did not disassemble into two parts, but folded so the buttstock could be folded for parachuting. The hinge was secured with screws.

The stock folds into the transport position on a metal loop on the right side. There’s no locking mechanism in the folded position, parachuting with the stock strapped to the leg was intended. When unfolded, the stock locks, to ensure that this structure was fixed in the unfolded position, a hook was provided on the left side of the receiver.

To achieve a geometrically correct connection between the buttstock and the stock, a die with a hole was placed on the cut of the stock, and a die with a pin was placed on the cut of the buttstock.

To prevent the hook from accidentally slipping off, it was secured with a special wing nut.

And apparently to show how carefully the resulting design was thought out, a dust shield was installed on the bolt.

In total, the Nagoya arsenal produced about 250-300 of Type 1 TERA Rifles for military testing in 1941 but it was rejected by the IJA during testing.

The Type 1 TERA Rifle was rejected by the IJA because its folding mechanism was not reliable, it was insufficiently robust enough for service and the IJA desired a 7.7 mm caliber rifle.

The Type 100 Rifle is already a Paratrooper event squad, so I think it make no sense to have another Paratrooper Event Squad with bolt-action. A Premium Paratrooper Squad nobody would buy it because it’s a paratrooper squad with bolt-action rifle in Japan BR1 which is very weak BR.
So in my opinion the best option would be a BP weapon, Japan has more limited weapons than any other nation, this weapon is not necessary in the TT and Japan can survive without event weapons (without Squads) so the best option is to be a BP weapon.
It would be very unique weapon and it wouldn’t be unbalanced nothing.

It doesn’t fill any gap, it’s just a cool weapon that would be very interesting to see in the game.

Japan still has the smallest number of premium squads, and actually, a 1 BR paratrooper unit with a rifle like this wouldn’t look too bad… I guess? But in reality, I don’t see the point in yet another bolt-action rifle right now .

I’m adding another photo of the experimental Type 2 paratrooper rifle equipped with a Type 44 carbine cavalry bayonet.

A squad of Premium BR1 Paratroopers for Japan I’d prefer it to be some submachine gun like Germany has, the problem is that Japan doesn’t even have good submachine guns in BR1

And the options are very few, but maybe the Tokyo with 18 rounds? While the Beretta M38/43 and Type 100 SMG prototype with 530 rate of fire in TT (I forgot the name, lol)

That would be a really cool weapon to see in the game, I’d never heard of it before
