Zoom is pretty strong, yet there are too many shooters that have zero zoom nowadays.
How do you simulate the fact that the human eye can “focus” on a target with a 2 dimensional representation?
A little zoom is absolutely justified.

Focus is not the same as zoom, and it has nothing to do with each other. Simulating the focus only makes sense on an out-of-focus image, where a focus is applied on an area. Zoom is not something that simulates focus.

The soft zoom by holding the breath could be further reduced, made even more subtle, and eliminate any other type of false zoom other than by a telescopic sight.
