"Trench hell" update (world war 1 expansion, subfactions and making quality life improvements) Mega suggestion

Greetings to all forum users, as the title says today we gonna see an update concept i made based on the recent ww1 event and multiple more life quality improvements for the game

Lets beggin with the main dish:


World war 1 in enlisted

As recently shown into the ww1 event i´ve noticed that the people have liked the gamemode (me included) and while playing it i started to think that the game has a big potential with world war 1 era

why not cold war era to modern era?

the developers have stated that they wont go any further than world war 2 the reasons are unknow but if you ask me i think is because war thunder infantery mode will do that job, thats why at least in my opinion the best we can do is to step back into the trenches and live with it

Also world war 1 have many unique weapons and vehicles and crazy concepts that it would be a crime for these to not ever appear, sadly the problem is also that some of these unique features would only hypoteticly work on ww1 lets give and example of a plane thats basically a super plane (for ww1 era only) but now try to think on what would happen if it figths an actual funtional ww2 plane or even the jets?, it will cleary remain pointless even against the most garbage planes into the game thats why some these equipments need their own space to shine same goes to tanks and hand weapons aswell


how can ww1 be implementd into the game?

There are 2 possible ways that world war 1 can be implemented into the game

-BR 0 (easiest method)

as its name says that the most simple and laziest method to be honest where we can just put some world war 1 stuff and equipments and do some ajustements to the gameplay like the fact that on this br there wont be any hand automatic weapon since there is a lot of people who would like to only play bolt action rifles and use slow tanks and planes that definitly would have no place and neither a chance on any other BR so this br specificly would be locked that means no early world war 2 equipment would face ww1 because the difference would be absolutly big

to be fair im not against the adding of BR0 but as i said we are wasting multiple mechanics and concepts by being lazy and just doing some Ctrl+C and Ctrl+V thats why for people who loved the concept of world war 1 the second method will be your favorite:


Campains nostalgia more complex but organized method

my idea here will be separating the world war 1 from 2 allowing you to select the era you want to play similar to the old campaings where you choose which theater of war u will figth in:

this will also change the tech trees to a different ones currently i´ve made a Britanic/french/US and German/Italian (with an hungary exception) tech tree with 3 Brs each

Take in considerationn that i tried My Best to balance both sides so no faction Will have advantage over others and if you find more unique equipment or balance problems and their solution you can leave them below anyways lets get into these improvised TT i made

Limitations to world war 1 era

Despite the world war 1 being such and interesting conflict we have to realize the fact that the automatic weapons (smgs) would be Even more OP than what these alredy are on the base Game specially on BR1-3 and if this happens on ww2 i can’t Even think on how insane the meta would be on ww1 knowking that we would be using Even more rusty bolties so we have to make some balancing stuff here:

Assulters and machines gunners Will be reduced to 2 on their own squads

The reason is above and Even tho smgs and machines guns won’t be appearing in the BR1 of ww1 we cleary know that these would be Game breaking on Even higher brs and same goes to machine gunners thats why i decided to reduce their pressence if You agree with me pls vote and if You have a better solution or just want to spam Smgs against rusty bolties (hydrogen bomb vs coughing baby)

No tanks on br 1 and BR2 ( tecnically)

Tanks won’t appear at all on br 1 and neither br 2 but we Will be getting armored vehicles and tanquettes which can’t be killed by conventional bullets but at the same time these Will still lack the fire power and armor and Even designaction to be considered “tanks”

When it comes to planes same Will go to BR1 case where these won’t be present but unlike tanks these Will start to make presence on BR2 because these arent a treat that Will be always present since these have to reload and ww1 planes also lacked Big bombs or at least the ones i put on the tech tree

Would You like guys to have vehicles since br 1 or have that special place where all is fun and bolt action spam heaven?

Now lets go with unique features:

Radio man gas attack

This is alredy implemented on the event and self explanatory would You like to keep it? Make it evolve to something more spammeable (like Bf1 pocket granades) or remove the gas

ah yes before i forgot about it if we are gonna add gas ofc is more than obvious we are going to add their counter (Gas Masks)

This battle was characterized for being the largest one of the entire ww1 and also part of it took part on a urban enviroment

1st battle of Ypres

this battle was characterized for being early on the war perfect for lower brs on the game and since is an early battle i think that the “trench” style warfare wasnt totally present (yet)

Trench Club and another improvised weapons

Should the nations get able to use trench clubs just like katanas are unique items of japan? items that would give a speed buff?

New gamemode: “Mass assault”

is basically the same gamemode as on the current ww1 event 1 team defends while the other one attacks, for helping to hide or help to capture the attacking team will spawn bots to help (if being free xp pinata and easy target can be considered as a help but meh who cares we all love Xp on this game)

Keep on mind that the bots will not drain the reinforcements so that would encourage the players to hunt the actual real players and not stay back farming xp killing bots, the one who drains the enemy reinforcements or captures the enemy positions wins

Subfactions filter and other improvements for HA enjoyers

at the top of the screen in case of germany there will be the nations where some of their equipment come from

lets say you click on italy:

it will inmediatly filter the italian equipment and in case there is some stuff in folder it will be unfoldered on the filter so you can more easily find them

(correct me i got wrong here XD i dont know to much about HA)

same goes to the other filters and this can be also applied to the US nations with the british equipment and even some captured equipment from URRS and Japan

this will also make the implementation/organization of other nations equipment easier and better.

Expanded squads customization

currently you can change the uniforms and the nationality of a soldier, but does it makes sense that i have 9 british soldiers but for some reason they are an american squad?, no problem cuz if you change the nationality of all your soldiers the name and icon of the squad will be automaticly changed to one from their nation

or

Custom squads
since we all have tons of the useless customization orders why not giving them a better use by allowing us to cuztomize the name of our division, nationality and logo like on some old call of duty emblem editor so we can all become artists desinging our own division or perhaps recreate some irl ones (for more than OBVIOUS reasons this must have a filter, or maybe not HEHEHEH)

love the effort, but mods will say it needs to be split into multiple suggestions

  1. WW1 mode
  2. new game mode - mass assault
  3. sub factions, which i think has been covered before
  4. expanded squad customisaton
  5. replacing snipers for engineers, something i really support
  6. adding new content

all of which are absolutely fantastic but i think need their own post

You outdid yourself.

But I fear the staff won’t look at it because there are too many different suggestions in this single post…

i think with adding new weapons from all the posts i have seen they also require like sources as well with where they are from and their stats
