Topic for collecting localization issues

Strictly for this

Okay, understood. I’m not available to take screenshots in game right now but I can confirm its still a problem, but descriptions mentioning the Chi-Ha tank have capitalization errors and say “Chi-ha”

image

Not french myself nor studying this language but

And correct me if i am wrong but this one do align with theme of this topic
So the main problem is weapon name “fusil anti-tank”, while in description you literally have “fusil antichar”

Vollmer MKb 35/III

“later 30s” isn’t proper English and sounds unnatural. It should say something like “late 1930s” instead"

image

Kar98k Kriegsmodell

“produced of lower quality materials” is incorrect English. The correct phrasing should be “produced with lower quality materials”.

Edit: This should also say “meet the demands of wartime” instead of “the war time”

image

Kar98k

Unnecessary comma, unnatural sentence flow. “with a non-removable muzzle and plywood stock” would be better. “Wehrmacht soldiers” is unnecessary, just saying “main rifle of the Wehrmacht” would be better.

MP40

The MP40 is lighter than the MP38 by 0.1kg and it fires faster by 10 RPM so this entire description is really pointless and should just be rewritten entirely

image

P08 Luger

The description says it has a higher muzzle velocity than the P38 but that is just straight up incorrect. The P08 and P38 have the exact same muzzle velocity stats in this game, so this description should be rewritten into something actually truthful

image

TE-4

Description states it has a “medium” rate of fire but its ROF is actually almost 900 RPM when upgrades are applied so this description is just misleading to the user

image

Pzb-39

Description says it has two magazines attached to the gun but this is false, they are just boxes meant for holding ammunition and aren’t magazines. Misleading to users thinking its a traditional gun magazine

image

Mg34 Patronentrommel

Description says the weight of the magazine increases recoil which is completely false information. It actually has less recoil than the MG34.

YES!

Oh boy where do I even begin.

As someone who speaks Russian and English, I can clearly see that most descriptions in English are poor translations from Russian.

Which is very surprising. It’s not like there are not enough Rus/Eng translators and interpreters, not like Google translate wouldn’t have done a better job, not to mention recent AI developments.

But anyway, let’s start:

  1. Matchmaker gatherS

image

  1. Consistency?

Some vehicle descriptions follow the Russian tradition of “KV-1 – modification of …”

image

Others are written as “T-50 is a …”

image

Then there are descriptions which simply mention the name of the tank and start a lecture like “T-34 The most…”

image

And finally some vehicle descriptions don’t start by mentioning the tank at all

image

  1. “using A bolt action rifle”

image

  1. “with A non-removable muzzle”

image

  1. You don’t need THE here

image

  1. If we’re talking about a specific gun and not a random one, it should be “THE gun”. Also I’d replace “gun” with “weapon”

image

  1. THE Red Army

image

  1. My favorite “In a spike”, which should be interlocking armor (interlocking plates). This is the most bizarre auto-translation I’ve ever seen.

image

  1. Why is the “a” lower case in M5A1?

image

  1. Continues to participate? Now in 2026? Also “The North African campaign”.

image

  1. Unlock more SLOTS? Unlock ANOTHER slot?

Honestly, there are so many awkward translations and amateur calques that you should hire a professional translator for a complete overhaul.

Just hire a freelance translator from Fiverr, they literally start their pricing at $10 USD, not even that expensive for Gaijin

Is it really worth just half-assing the product you are selling to people by using Google translate. I could probably be here until 2027 going through all of the unnatural language in English alone. Can’t imagine other localizations (besides RU) is any better

Small issues, and not a big deal. Thought I would post anyways

The TT should be corrected to “TT-33”

Tokarev TT-33 - Internet Movie Firearms Database - Guns in Movies, TV and Video Games

Colt Monitor should be corrected to “Colt R80 Monitor”

Browning Automatic Rifle - Internet Movie Firearms Database - Guns in Movies, TV and Video Games

The M1903A3’s description, while not incorrect, could be expanded upon.

“The M1903A3 was the primary version of the M1903 produced during the war. Developed to supplement production of the M1 rifle, It features improved sights and a simplified manufacturing process allowing for quicker production.”

you should make a suggestion topic for just renames

Already fixed

This would be nice, personally i don’t like that they have the vehicle name in the description since you can find it 1 line above, but that’s a lot of work so I doubt they would get reworked

Already known, will be fixed

Ya, mentionned below

Is it still relevant? I don’t think you can see this anywhere now

True, I’ll write these up

Same

Do you have an idea of how to rewrite it? The description doesn’t look good even with this change

Forwarded it

Well in the context of the game it makes sense, since the war is still ongoing, altho yes it does lack the

Good point, i’ll forward it

These 3 were as well

Already has an existing report so can remind about it

I’ll write them up now

This one can wait a bit tho, since it is technically correct, even if it is not that informative

@Euthymia07-live

Does the game base its localization more on American English or British English? I’ve seen a lot of mentions of the word “caliber” spelled as “calibre” and I’m wondering if it would just be better to use a more neutral word such as “cartridge” that isn’t spelled differently across English dialects since a lot of people probably assume its a spelling error at first glance. Technically not wrong but it would probably be something worth considering

Can I rewrite it from scratch or does it have to be consistent with the description in Russian?

If I had a go:

The T-34 (STZ) was distinguished by its all-steel road wheels and a hull featuring unique interlocking armor plates. These design choices were dictated by the critical shortage of rubber and the need for simplified production during the Battle of Stalingrad

But are we in 1941? 1945?

I think it would make more sense to talk about WW2 in the past, in general.

Yes. Everything is happening everywhere at the same time. The battles in Berlin, Stalingrad, Tunisia, and Manchuria are all happening at the exact same time

I also wanted to mention an example of American English spelling with the “Gray” BP plane skin here.

@Euthymia07-live What dialect of English is preferred for the localization? because I have found both examples of American English and British English in the game

image

MG30

“…and a side mounted magazine” would be better. Also I don’t know if the MG30 would be a “classic example” because nobody has probably seen this gun outside of Enlisted before. I don’t know, just seems like a weird way to describe it.
image

G98 Wartime

“with a dust cover” would be better. or “an added dust cover”
image

Carcano 7.35mm

“, however…” → “. However…” Start a new sentence at “However” so the entire description isn’t one giant sentence.
“War” → “war”
“produced in small quantities” → “it was produced in small quantities”
image

Breda mod.30

“, fires from a closed bolt…” → “. It fires from a close bolt…”. Ditch the comma and make it a new sentence
image

FNAB-43

“lie under the barrel” → “lay under the barrel”
image

G98 Sniper

“Scope mount can be installed on the Gewehr 98” sounds very weird. I recommend just replacing this description with something like “Sniper modification of the Gewehr 98 rifle”
image

Do you think the developers would deposit any gold into my account for doing all of this proof reading for them? The answer is probably “No” but you miss 100% of the shots you don’t take, and all…
