Can the USSR researchable faction have a new BR 5 researchable tank to counter the King Tiger?
The Tiger II (H) has a faster reload and a decent gun that is capable of penetrating the frontal armor of the IS-2 (1944). Most importantly, the Tiger II (H) has nearly invincible frontal turret and hull armor.
At BR 5, the USSR needs a worthy opponent to the Tiger II (H) that is equipped with a faster-reloading gun than the current 122 mm. Maybe a 100 mm gun would be a better option for neutralizing infantry and the King Tiger turret armor?
Totally legit, but hear me out.
This game uses asymmetric approach of balancing, that means albeit soviet loses out on tanks, it found it back somewhere else, for example like the exclusive plate armour that’s definitely a huge part, or the Tu2-S bomber, etc.
Tiger IIH is definitely in its own league, but think of it as the deliberate perk of German faction.
At BR5, each faction have their distinctive features :
- Germany gets the better tanks with the KT
- Western allies get an obnoxiously powerfull Air Power
- Soviets get the upper hand in the infantry with above average weapons which other factions dont really have (like Fedorov Avtomat and RD-44) and armor plates
- Japan gets… the dedication of the Emperor I guess (well and access to the best rifle with the type Hei auto, but I am not sure if this is still true) and sword because you absolutly should bring a sword to a gunfight.
Well, I thought we were told that asymmetrical is fun and such.
But sure, we can also add Captured Tiger to the Allies and Soviets since this seems to be the standard response of the devs.
distinctive features that are not so distinctive anymore…
KT is slightly better than super pershing cause of reload, soviet tanks are turtles that are almost impossible to kill with infantry unless you know exact vulnerable spots.
i agree with this, but mostly cause of p47
armor is available on all BR and is not BR5 specific. fedorov avtomat is like type hei AR, but only available to assaulters with 5 bullets less so it is not game changer. i agree about RD44 cause it is basically 100 round AR.
there were suggestions made about 100mm tanks. iirc it was t44-100 and is1-100. knowing soviet bias, it is probably implemented as we speak…
Decard?
Is this ur alt?
#UnbanDecard
Decard who? No, I have no alt account.
In fact, the disparity in equipment among different factions is not particularly significant. Personally, I think the main reason is that the Soviet BR 5 lacks experienced players. Every time I go to play alone in Soviet BR 5 during the evening in East Asia, I have to be prepared for multiple failures because the strength of the allies is too far behind the Axis powers. I have to rush around like a nanny to prevent the front line from collapsing too quickly.
The Soviet faction was the second longest-playing faction among the four I visited, with the highest kill ratio, but its win rate was the lowest among all the factions.
I wish they will add T-44-100 tank in the researchable tech tree. I desperately need a perfect BR 5 tank for USSR faction.
Oh no best tank of the war is better than other tanks! Must be Nazi bias.
Oh my god. The red parrot is back. (Unfortunately)
USSR has:
- powerfull bombers
- rocket spam early on
- body armor
- the best (or less nerfed) smg’s ingame
- assault rifles with best stats
- many many fantasy or prototype weapons with big advantages
- captured axis weapons like the Panzerfaust
- did I mention body armor?
- decent tanks from BR3-BR5
- best semi auto rifles (SVT-38 on BR3, shall I say more?)
- body armor without any slower movement
- most special events and special items in the last time
- most usefull event units (NKVD with Thompson, T-34 with 100mm gun, laser assault rifles everywhere)
- BODY ARMOR
- one of the few nations with a 100rd machine gun for a loooong time
- …
- and last but not least: the mighty sekrit dokumints aka. russian bias, urrraaaa
Let axis have their king tiger as one of the few benefits in this game. It’s the same when a KV-1 shoots from miles away and you are hopeless outgunned. Same feeling, just different BR.
Heresy, the best WW2 tank is the L3.

Bob Semple dislikes this.
Nah. Americans have best air yet apparently needed the pershings… if US can get the treatment then soviets can as well.
However it’s a different story there… their guns couldn’t pen it at all from the front, soviets at least can.
Id have loved asymmetrical balance too however along with t20 it’s clear they don’t intend on doing that… and AVS 20 rd etc etc
If you are talking about the variation of vehicles then yes I’d love to see more. However to prevent breaking the game I’d only advocate for the addition of T44-85 at most (I’d say it’s already better than the Pershing as a medium tank).
On the other one you mentioned, Asymmetrical balance is clearly just an approach, it’s up to the devs especially the QA team to ensure it’s done well. I agree on the fact that currently this game is not on its best form, the AVS 36-20 and the plate armour combo is just slaughtering the BR5, and you got German BR3 that’s clearly underpowered, also the entire BR4 being smashed by BR5 etc. There’s many problem for sure.
Nah just sligtly nerf the reload of the KT why? Well i heard a lot time back then that KT unlike IS 2 has its reload time based on controlled tests while Is2 is based on a average while is on combat something that is a nice detail but it ends screwing the IS2
But if something is true is that the IS2 is very hard to kill with demo packs and tnt
In fact most sov tanks are like this t50 t34s kv1s and IS2
The cannon can easily pen the KT problem is reload
Yeah, overall BR 5 battle is unenjoyable. Constant artillery shelling, air strikes, high speed bombers flying, machine gunners running around like they are carrying sub machine gun but with unlimited bullets and tiger 2s are dominating in the BR 5 battle. BR 5 is very chaotic. I wish devs will find a way to turn down the level of chaos we have right now in BR 5. I want to enjoy BR 5 like I have enjoyed BR 3. And yeah BR 4 gets crushed by BR 5 matchmaking. BR 4 is unplayable and BR 5 is unenjoyable.
It’s undeniable that Germany possesses the powerful Tiger II, but your Soviet faction also has very powerful bombers, armored infantry, and assault rifles. You can’t be so greedy as to throw the game out of balance across all factions. If you find the Tier 5 battles too difficult, you can switch to lower-tier battles for more casual campaigns, but you can’t use that as an excuse to disrupt the game’s balance.
