- Starting with the Soviet Union being equipped with a Chinese firearm—this makes little sense, as it was neither widely captured nor used by affiliated forces fighting alongside the USSR like the British, French, Italian, or Hungarian troops. There’s no historical justification for adding it.
- There’s no need to include Japanese weapons simply based on captured equipment. If that were the logic, Germany could add over half of the Soviet arsenal to its tech tree. Moreover, China was still fiercely resisting Japan at the time, and two hostile nations would not share weapons. Given current news highlighting Sino-Japanese tensions, adding such content could even make headlines.
This weapon is essentially tied to the Chinese military, and its logical fate should be to be entrusted to Chinese forces.
Therefore, I suggest it be introduced as an event squad in a future new event rather than as a premium squad, which might lead to overuse. An event reward would keep it rarer while still being available under the Soviet faction.
Currently, China could at most serve as material for event squads or premium squads for the U.S. and Soviet factions, similar to how Hungary and Finland are handled. Just as Germany cannot add captured T-28s or BT-7s to its regular tech tree, consistency matters.
On one hand, there’s the issue of this weapon’s historical归属 and tech tree placement. On the other hand, the Soviet update this time feels too minor. Everyone should try to put themselves in others’ shoes—if your faction received a small, largely irrelevant weapon in a major update, who would be satisfied?
I don’t want to hear arguments about “making up for past updates” or anything similar. A major update should benefit everyone. Once this precedent is set, who can guarantee their faction won’t be the next victim? We need to think long-term.
Some of you may not want to see the Soviet faction receive meaningful content, so how about suggesting minor fun additions instead—like the I-16 “Donkey” or the T-35? At least those would make more sense.
It’s not that I want to see other nations receive lots of great additions—what I don’t want is for other factions to get so many new things that eventually, their historical content reserves run dry. Then, the Soviet Union might end up as the only one left unable to receive updates. And if other factions have nothing new left to introduce, there’s a real risk they’ll turn around and demand that the Soviet faction shouldn’t get anything new either.
The new Chinese rifles should at least not be added to the T T

I hope everyone can discuss this amiably, without delving too deeply into historical or ethnic-national history debates that might lead to this thread being locked
. I’ve already seen something similar happen in a previous thread.
