The True MP 717(R) for Germany

I know what you’re thinking “the MP 717(R) was an exclusive unlock a long time ago from the old Stalingrad Campaign!”. Yes, but there is more to the story. That particular “MP 717(R)” is actually a PPSh 40, the pre-production PPSh-41 that was produced in small numbers before true mass production began. The way to identify the early PPSh 40 is by its notable adjustable rear site that was changed on the standard model. Only a few hundred of this early PPSh 40 were produced while the standardized PPSh-41 was produced by the millions. Germany captured thousands of PPSh-41 and many were reissued with German 7.63mm Mauser ammunition that was near identical to 7.62mm Tokarev.

It is a captured Russian PPSh-41 that was reissued with German ammunition, making it a unique gun.

I think Germany should receive the true MP 717(R), the standard PPSh-41 model. It is technically a different gun from the old Stalingrad MP 717(R). Germany truly lacks high capacity smgs. It can be an event prize

the unused suomi variant in the editor files would be better

A unique weapon would be better

I look more at context. Germany used much more PPSh-41s than they would have Suomis, so the PPSh-41 should be added. Of coarse the Suomi could be added also

If you want to play PPSH, there’s Soviet faction for you. That’s the context.

Stop trying to undermine faction’s integrity by trying to put Russian smg into German tech tree when it’s completely unnecessary.

I have similar feelings but I draw my lines elsewhere. It is rechambered for German ammunition so it’s good in my book

Probably is that it’s a old Legacy gun now, and only vets have them. While I don’t mind if it returns as a TT gun, I only want the old one if possible.

Why are you writing again about wanting the MP717(r) back? How many more threads can you keep creating? I’ve said and will continue to say that you were better off leveling up the Stalingrad campaign. It’s no one’s fault it was half-paid—you could have gotten that MP717(r) anyway.

Why do you think anyone cares about your opinion?

His opinion matters as much as everyone elses.

He plays like a bot and runs away from matches when he sees me. He’s also noticeably biased against Japan and Germany.

Even so, his opinion still matters

As event, why not.
In TT, just no .

Into the old system (before the merge), it was logic to see a ppsh into the German side in Stalingrad ( and it should be add in Berlin + Moscow campaigns),but now it’s déférent…

It is technically a different gun. The old Stalingrad MP is an early model PPSh-41, I am suggesting the mass produced late model PPSh-41 for Germany

Germany didn’t produce the PPSh-41 from scratch. They exclusively used captured specimens, but they weren’t simply used in their original form; they were often heavily modified. The only question is: where did Germany produce it for itself?

As an event weapon I have no problem with it, but it shouldn’t be TT; The Suomi Kp31 SJR would be a much better gun for that role.

I support this weapon being added to the Suomi Kp31 research.

If we look deeper into this issue, I can say they should remove the Panzerfaust and Panzerschreck from SU and Allies and captured content can only be event

But if they are unwilling to do that, then Germany capturing thousands of PPSh-41s justifies them receiving it

Ok so by this logic there should be no more event weapons added as none of them served in all theaters… how stupid.
