During the war on the Eastern Front, German forces encountered a lot of T34s of many variants, and often had captured many examples and pushed them into their own service, sometimes with modifications done to them to better fit what they needed. One such modification was adding a German commander’s cupola commonly from panzer 3s and 4s to these T34s, which the original Russian version had completely lacked and had just simple hatches for the commander. The example in war thunder however, which was based on a captured T-34 1942, uses the StuG 3’s cupola instead of a panzer 3/4 cupola, as the T34s with hexagonal turrets sometimes used these. I think this could be an interesting event vehicle for BR3 because it’s a captured vehicle, but modified from it’s original state beyond a paint job, and would be a nice contrast from the glass cannon panzer 4s on BR3.
I even agree to see it on the 3rd br just to show how vulnerable the kv 1 tank really is, even against the 2nd br, even if it is more armored than the usual kv 1 br 3

I have no clue how a KV-1 with a 7.5cm KwK 40 L/48 would ever be BR 3 and not BR 4. Either way, they both seem like great Event or Premium tank options!
The KV-1 in general has very strong side, roof and floor armor. Closest thing to compare it to is probably the M4A3E2 Jumbo, with some differences. All in all, both KV-1s are fine where they currently are.
As for the German 7.5cm gun, it has similar pen to the American 76 and Soviet 85mm. Late Pz.IVs have good frontal hull armor, but are otherwise quite vulnerable, so a KV-1 with the same gun would be inappropriate at the same BR. We don’t need more power creep.
T-34 could be an intressting option for BR 3 but the the KV is clearly BR 4.
Having the T-34 for the axis in BR 3 would be really apealling as it would be very usefull and that way the USSR mains could finally understand how bullshit their tanks are to fight at times.
How do you NOT see the problem?
This thing has tiger 1 like armor and a comparable gun. Both of those factors make it better than the contemporaries of other nations. The german one would be able to penetrate every other tanks, while none could do it in return?
You’re suggesting the same thing the soviets had be brought upon them, which will inevdibly lead to more powercreep.
This logic doesn’t work, because noone belives a king tiger at BR 1 is balanced. Unless you’re suggesting the removal of BRs, to which I suggest you quit the game.
So which one are you talking about?
The kv-1 C with the german long 75 and additional armor
or the kv-1 B with the original soviet gun but still with still a fuck ton of a add on armor?
