I just feel like it’s odd considering that they could get the numbers right for SMGs like the PPD-34, but for something as iconic as the Thompson, they somehow got it wrong?

I like the idea, but there is a topic about this open already and mods might close this because it’s too simple

I think it would be best if the M21/28 had it’s fire rate changed to 600 rpm and moved to BR III while M1928A1 kept the 700 rpm fire rate on BR III.
M1A1 Thompson would also have to be moved to BR III with 700 rpm fire rate, but another M1A1 could be added to BR II with 20 round magazine.

Agreed. If we swap the M1A1’s performance and BR, BR3 Allies would be a perfect combination. M1 Garand, BAR, M1A1 Thompson. It’s the Saving Private Ryan starter pack.
