The reasons why Berlin test looked 10 times better than Normandy and Moscow do

Here is a picture from berlin Playtest. I showed Berlin gameplay on YT to my Friend and after that, I showed him the battle of Moscow gameplay and he couldn’t believe I’m showing him the same game.

Here are some points which I think makes berlin the best looking campaign ( speaking about graphics)

1. Fog
Berlin test was very foggy which made it look much more cinematic.

2. Night and Darkness
Most players didn’t notice this as I did but Berlin had Dusk and Day maps.

3. Fire
I don’t know why but fire was very beautiful to look at in Berlin playtest. Maybe it was the contrast

4. Smoke
The large amounts of Smoke made it look even more cinematic

5. Rifle skins
Rifles in Berlin (especially Kar-98) looked much more as they looked in real life compared to Moscow. Now Kar98 and M1938 have some weird dark colour which makes them look very old and unclean.
Rifles like G33 and M1907 are the opposite but in a bad way, these guns are too much ‘‘orange’’ and they look like toys

Now I know Kar98 we have now has more details on it but WHY IS IT BLACK???
Edit: I forgot to point out that the one in Berlin is Kriegsmodell which was historically more white but the one in Moscow is darker than pre-war model but it should be between pre war and kriegsmodell in darkness

Anyways: the rifle skin is too dark in my opinion and when I look at it, it doesnt remind me of Kar98’s that I’ve seen in museums
6. Sound
Artillery whistle wasnt removed from the game like it has been now

How do we make other campaigns look as good?

Moscow should have more snow and present snowstorms because eastern front was very cruel and in Enlisted it looks…happy.
Air should be present and it should make whistling noises.

Normandy should be more dark and night maps should be present.
There could be rain and storm added to Normandy as well.

Artillery whistle should be brought back.

Smoke should be present more (not as much as on Berlin but still more)

The most likely reason why kar98k is so bright in Berlin is, that it is kriegsmodell. Now, Im no military expert but I remember, that kriegsmodell in comparison to the previous kar98s was far brighter.
I found a video where previous kar versions are compared to kriegsmodell.

But I agree, that Moscow should have different weather conditions, but I wouldn´t get rid of the sunny Moscow entirely.

Kriegsmodell was endeed light colored but the one we have in Moscow is literally black

To be honest I have a small house in Moscow outskirts. And it reminds me quite peaceful morning late fall day in there. =D I think its a special opinion
But mostly i like weather change in game

Dude, battle of Moscow took place in winter.
Did you see pictures from the battle?
Soldiers were constantly freezing and germans had to cover up their whole heads with towels and steal boots from dead russian soldiers just to prevent themselves from freezing to death.

It starts in october. While first snow starts yearly it kind a first step of Battle - wermaht offensive. Late november its starts freese a lot but a colder time was after a soviet counterattack.
Damn while I were searching some pictures of my village I were quite excited by peace. I love peace))) I mean no war) *I`m not drunk. Just a feeling you know
Maybe at Volokolamsk it was more snow by the time of these operation and the weather was much worse.
Maybe its a design desicion.

Well, perhaps current version of kar98 should get a little bit brighter to resemble more accurate dark brown. I probably misunderstood your post and thought you wanted kriegsmodell colours in 1941.

This must be a joke, I’ve never seen so good winter war atmosphere combined with beautiful graphics in a ww2 game, and I’ve played a lot of ww2 games. Also the Kar98k which you call black looks way better than the Berlin campaigns version. So I cant agree if you are not joking :wink: (Also fun fact, I deleted the game after first battle in Berlin campaign when it was open testing and then bought the 50 euro support pack just to play in Moscow)

Well, if you compare it to actual kar98 model from beginning of the war, the one we have in the game looks a bit more darker, but its just a little detail, base colour is there. Now if version we had in game was pitch black, it would be problematic.

Also ig G33 looks so pure and clean. M1907 as well. Looks like some rifles was photogrammetry copied. Others was modelled by 3D artist

I’m happy you like the game but for me, a guy who likes historical accuracy, it just doesn’t remind me of Eastern Front. Just my opinion

In real life, all mosins were clean looking and their colours were certainly more appealing than Kar98 or M1 Garand but even mosins had wooden marks and lines on them:

In Enlisted, mosin is just covered in orange and I think Call of duty WaW from 2008 has a better looking Mosin

It looks like this in november. The most close to its weather time in game. But in 1941 it was a bit more snow.

Still much more snow than what we see in Enlisted.
