The Panzerjäger 1 was a tank destroyer employed by the Wehrmacht starting during the invasion of France, where it was used to counter more heavily armored French tanks the German tanks had trouble taking out at the time, and it did that job quite well, and even saw some service on the Eastern Front and North African campaign. This vehicle used the chassis of the outdated Panzer I, and fitted it with a Czech 47mm Skoda gun, which gave it much better penetration then current vehicles at the time of it’s introduction, being able to better fight more modern and heavily armored tanks of the time in comparison to other panzers in the Wehrmacht’s use. I think this would be a unique new vehicle for BR1 since it’s gun has pretty good penetration stats slightly better than the panzer 3J’s (87mm at 10m for it’s APC shell, 119mm at 10m for APCR), and reloads an entire second faster, at 3 seconds per shell. Sure, it wouldn’t be super strong, but I think that it’s an interesting vehicle to have.

Dude… and what about the passion for collecting? We need to think about that! I’m totally into it! Even though the German tree is already quite extensive and we should really try to add Italian/British pieces and complete the Russian and Japanese trees.

We need my German son in game.

I wouldn’t say that! It’s very good!

In certain areas, it is quite good, but given how it’s an open topped TD without an MG, there are some things holding it back from being the best for BR1. I’d still love to see it though.

BR 1? Yes. Being able to take up to BR 3? Also yes. This thing saw service up to 1943

1943? That can’t be right — this tank is that weak? Could it even survive in 1943? I think by then it would have already been relegated to second-line duties, like training or urban patrols.

Nope, its gun is very good. It fully capable of killing KV-1s, Churchills, and T-34s frontally.

Anyway, I’d be really happy to see this thing added. It’s built on the Panzer I chassis, but since the Panzer I only has machine guns, it couldn’t be included as a regular tank slot — that would just waste a vehicle slot.

I think this should be added to the game as a freely available tank or squad, specifically aimed at new players. On one hand, it would give beginners something fresh to try, and on the other, since it’s so weak and only has a small-caliber gun, Germany’s Panzer III would quickly outclass it anyway.

Alternatively, it could work as a map-based objective vehicle — something players could build, find spawned on the map, or even repair from a wreck. But honestly, it still feels a bit too niche. It’s okay to have it, but we’d need to give it a proper role so it doesn’t just feel useless.

It’d be a nice event vehicle

Armor wise, yes. Armament wise, no. It’s a very good gun.

You’re right about that — as for it being “rare”… I actually don’t think it’s rare. Germany’s early Blitzkrieg likely used it. Let’s just make it something everyone can get, because it’s so cheap and ineffective. If it were treated as a rare vehicle, I feel like even if one finally spawned, most people would take one look and think, “Ugh, not this thing.” Only collectors would be happy.

As for the BR-1, its main weapon… how should I put it? If its rate of fire could be buffed in-game — faster than standard anti-tank guns, even quicker than the typical 45mm/50mm/47mm — and if low-tier maps had more open plains for long-range combat, then I think it could actually be decent.

Come to think of it, the problem now is that due to map design, tanks designed for ultra-long-range sniping often end up useless when they’re forced into close-range infantry support roles.

Then it must have its own event squad — and there should be corresponding event squads for other nations too. Giving it only one wouldn’t match the scale of a marathon event, and it’d feel too cheap. Ideally, the Soviet, Japanese, and American factions should each get one as well.

But if its rate of fire is extremely high yet it takes up the slot of my 50mm Panzer III, I’d be pretty unhappy about that.

It’s not, 202 were made

Yeah. (Also I’m talking about the Panzer I. The Panzerjäger I should be TT)
