First off, this gun uses Tokarev ammo, but its rate of fire isn’t even close to other Tokarev-powered weapons. Stat-wise, it’s completely outclassed by the PPSh-41 on the tech tree. It’s basically just a nerfed PPSh.

What’s even more ridiculous is that this is a BR3 squad. The gun is garbage, and on top of that, you only get a 5-man team. How does that make sense? A terrible gun that can’t even compete with the PPSh magazine, and such a tiny squad size.

Do devs just think they can release a strong start and then slack off as much as they want later? Meanwhile, the American Thompson’s value is still going up.

All these stats are plain to see. Is this Chinese-themed squad just a cheap cash grab preying on people’s national pride? Like they don’t want to give good stats just because it’s a Chinese + Soviet faction? This kind of thing was already noted with Barannikov.

It’s Lunar New Year anyway. You’d be better off spending that money on a nice meal and spending time with your family.

I’m not buying this squad until it gets major balance buffs. The numbers Anton and Dark Flow gave it are just straight-up garbage.

This event squad is basically just a reskin of the US Marine Thompson squad, which is actually really strong.
But this one? The high fire rate comes with a huge risk of eating bullets, and the damage is even lower than Tokarev rounds. These stats just poured a bucket of cold water on me.

At a price of 179? I’d much rather buy the US version.
Ugh, here comes another Soviet trash unit. Everyone’s like “Look, new Soviet stuff!”
Do you really think Chinese players have so much money we’ll buy literal shit?
I’ll just grab a chair and watch this squad flop hard.

Hmm as a Soviet main,

I do agree maybe the round performance should be slightly different, esp on account of different cartridges.

But im seeing basically nearly 100% better horizontal recoil control. (5 vs 9) To me thats huge re keeping the soldier as a laser beam.

What are their squad perks? Can you get even more horizontal weapon handling? (16?)

EDIT:

Ive tested the gun, as expected its a lazer with extremely good ROF/ accuracy? Im even considering purchasing the squad based on it.

As such I cant give the thumbs down to the weapon. It is infact quite strong. :slight_smile:

The difference between 6.6 and 6.9 is huge.
It has a higher fire rate than the magazine PPSh, but holds 5 fewer rounds, and the reload is really slow.
With 71 dispersion and a small magazine, it’s easy to feel uncomfortable using it.
The PPSh got a fire rate buff but a reload nerf, and it will probably be moved to rank II.
This gun is basically just an upgraded PPD-27. It’s really not better than the regular PPSh.

For this price, I could just get a four-man Hurricane squad instead.
This weapon is even weaker than some silver weapons.
My suggestion is to save your money.
I hope the devs can balance this paid squad better in the future.

Premmy sqauds shouldn’t be meta breaking. There’s nothing terribly wrong with the gun. Has some good stats, and has some average stats. It’s also a 5 man assaulter squad instead of 4, which offers a huge advantage in low-mid tier. It offers a unique weapon and squad, which is the primary goal of premmy stuff. Good chance I’ll be buying it myself if it feels nice. Not everyone likes to run around with the same gun in a 3 squad rotation to have the absolute best equipment in play. Probably the worst experience for fun possible lol

It’s just weak, especially compared to the PPSh-41 (magazine) and the Hurricane submachine gun.
Low ammo, low damage, high fire rate but prone to eating rounds and jamming.

What are you supposed to do in serious, high-skill matches?
Is this gun only good for picking on weaker players in low-tier games?

The US side already has two solid squads: the Marine Thompson and the M42 Joint Defense.
Why do you suddenly hide behind “balance” when it comes to this one?

It’s a 5-man assault squad — only 5 men.
Most regular silver squad has 7.
One more soldier means one more chance to survive.

Right now it’s just bad, plain and simple.
If you’re not even gonna defend it with stats anymore, then what’s the difference between this and a toy?

Is it worth buying? How’s the value?

I bought it and used it at the shooting range. The recoil is almost non existent, so, I wouldn’t call it bad, especially when you can throw down 1,240 rounds of lead a minute and every round is exactly on target. So, I have no idea what he is upset about. :joy:

Oh no this new gun isnt even more powercreep than the already very potent existing USSR smgs…

USSR mains are some of the most spoiled players…

I think only Germany really needs it.
The US has the Marine Thompson, the M42 Joint Defense, and the Charlton. They’re not short on strong submachine guns.
Still, their BR2 lineup’s strength mostly relies on these premium SMGs.

Germany could really use something like this, just like the MP 41(R).
Japan—would they even want a 6.6 damage gun?

But being locked at BR3, it has no real upper potential.
On top of that, its rate of fire was never properly tested.
Who knows how this gun is actually supposed to perform?

What’s the point of having a super high fire rate? What good does it do?
A pressure washer sprays faster than this gun for crying out loud!

It has 5 fewer rounds than the PPSh, and the damage is only 6.6.
Do you have any idea how big the difference is between 6.9 and 6.6?

And the reload time? 3.1 seconds!

If you actually take this into a real fight, you’ll empty your mag in seconds.
Because the damage is so low, you won’t even take out many enemies.
Then you’ll get locked on and killed by bots while you’re stuck reloading so slowly.

The ONLY weapons that reaches this blistering rate of fire is the MP-41(r), yet it’s a rare event weapon, not obtainable at any given time. Every other weapon falls short of this SMG.

Pampered? The Soviet players are basically stuck at BR3 right now.
Historically, Soviet equipment was better than Germany’s in the early stages, and only got outclassed by German individual vehicle quality later on.
There’s nothing wrong with the Soviets being strong in the first three BR3 tiers.

You call that being pampered?
What does that have to do with this gun being weak?
It’s not like we’re “paying back” anything. It’s just bad.

Did you even compare the stats before saying that?
The PPSh has already been nerfed.
The 76mm gun uses 87mm penetration rounds that can’t penetrate any BR4 tanks.
Soviet advantages at BR3 have been shrinking more and more lately.

I’m not even asking for it to be overpowered—just not this weak.
Are you seriously saying premium Soviet squads can’t be stronger than tech-tree weapons?

What about the MG45? MG39? M42? Charlton? Marine Thompson?
Why do you only use that argument when it comes to the Soviets?
Why don’t you say the same about Germany, Japan, and the US?

So what if I complain?
If something is this weak, players have every right to complain.
There are way more absurd complaints on the forum than mine.
You can start by getting used to my relatively rational take.

Firstly comrade.

This is the Sichuan SMG. Not the Sichuan Thompson. As a chinese yourself you should KNOW how to differentiate between these contrasting designs.

Two, this gun is a much more powerful PPSH Box. Its fire rate, reload, and stats are marginally better than the PPSH Box. I don’t know what you are talking about when you say it is “major balance buffs.”
I have already used this gun multiple times to wipe squads because of just how good it is. If you cannot use this gun which is statistically and practically so much better than the PPSH Box then I am not sure what to say to you.

As a response to your claim for Soviet BRIII being weak technology wise,

You are incorrect in this completely.

As a 3 year long player who has finished every tree in the game, I can say very confidently that BRIII Soviets is among the most powerful factions you can play. The PPSh Box, despite being nerfed, is still arguably the best SMG in BRIII between the Type 100 Late, the ZK 383 and the American Thompsons. It has the best fire rate and reload.

What you are experiencing which you are calling weakness is specifically the weakness of the Soviet playerbase. I play Soviets as my main faction, and every single premium squad I have is good, at its own tier, so far. Event guns as well, such as the Thompson 100 Round for the NKVD, is also one of the strongest squads in the game.

And why do you think the damage is only 6.6? Maybe because it shoots out bullets at the speed of light? :thinking: BTW, the difference between 6.9 and 6.6 at 1,240 rounds a minute is NOT MUCH, especially when every German smg shoots almost half as fast. 6.6 is still a huge advantage when your blowing out double the amount of lead of your enemy. :wink:

Alright, when I have nothing to say about the complaints other than the rate of fire, I forgot that for you guys, every bullet you fire won’t be swallowed by network latency. So for you, this 0.3 damage is basically no difference.
