The Persuader was the first prototype of the Thompson submachine gun, designed in October 1917, and essentially acted as the weapon’s predecessor. Using an early form of the Blish lock as designed by John Bell Blish, the weapon was unable to fire more than six rounds without stoppages due to issues with the weapon’s mechanism. No further improvements to the weapon were made; the weapon is currently on display at the West Point Military Museum.[1]
Design Details
The Persuader was a prototype version of the Thompson submachine gun using an early version of the Blish lock. Unlike later versions of the Thompson, the Persuader utilized a tape-feed for ammunition; the tape feed would be contained inside a proprietary magazine which would be attached to the weapon. This unconventional feed mechanism was unable to keep up with the movement of the bolt, resulting in frequent stoppages.
The Thompson has become the default SMG from BR2 to BR5. While the 20 round Thompson is perfect at BR2 and the 30 round is a little overpowered. The 30 round Thompson like the BAR is perfect at BR3 as if made for it.
The BR4 Thompsons are just pathetic overshadowed by the BR4 German Kiraly. That shoots as fast hits as hard and carries ten more rounds. The BR5 50 round Thompson faces assault rifles and is adequate for br5.
The Persuader could be made into a perfect BR4 Thompson. Depending on reload and rate of fire even with 50 rounds it could be made to fit against the Kiraly. Using a unique belt fed system like a certain Russian assault weapon. . Thompson Persuader | Gun Wiki | Fandom
The Persuader is needed for the tech tree One BR4 Thompson is nearly identical to a br3 Thompson the other is 100 BPM faster making little difference. While a prototype the allies lack a suitable production SMG for BR4 or 5. They lack any but a few prototype 'assault rifles.
We could add a ww2 prototype or drop a br5 50 tommy to br4 thats it. or add a protype assault rifle,
no allied production smg is as good as the kiraly, so um remove kiraly, or nerf magazine ,or damage or rof
Ignoring that claim about the Kiraly being the best SMG of WW2 (debatable), how is it nerfed in the game compared to IRL? It gets its 40 round mag, it gets relatively normal amounts of recoil for a SMG despite having a much more powerful cartridge presumably thanks to its delayed blowback action, it gets a historical rate of fire, it sits at a higher tier of damage similar to Thompsons and Grease Guns thanks to its powerful cartridge.
It has very high recoil in the game even though in reality it had delayed blowback which drastically reduced recoil.
Its dispersion is also ridiculous, 0.70 value, same as ppsh41 which had 150m effective range while Király has a 300m+ effective range.
Its basically Axis Thompson with good muzzle velocity in the game even though it was superior in every aspect.
Maybe M1 Thompson but Thompson 21/28 has buffed up stats compared to other Thompsons.
Lowered recoil, decreased dispersion… In short its a BR4 SMG as it will always be better superior to M1928A1 and M1A1.
but is not inferior to the current kiraly would be grossly inferior to a buffed kiraly.

The Kiraly’s recoil seems pretty inline with the other SMGs even if it’s maybe on a bit of the higher end to me. Can’t speak about its dispersion vs the actual irl gun however.
you dont know?
the recoil on the in game stat card is not the actual recoil, you get the actual recoil by multiplying the recoil with the recoil control
for example Király 39 has 32 vertical and 12 horizontal recoil and 60% recoil control so to get the actual recoil, multiply both with 60%.
32x0.4=12.8 so ~13 vertical recoil.
12x0.4=4.8 so ~5 horizontal recoil.
The actual recoil is 13 5 while StG44 has 10 2 recoil about the same for Hyde1944 and AS-44, M2 carbine has similar 14 4 recoil.
Type Hei auto has the same 13 5 recoil as Király even though Hei fires full power rifle rounds that does 13.9 damage.
Agreed. Ive never been too concerned about prototypes or very rare guns as you said events/premium, but they’ve ruined the tech tree.
It’s even more annoying when regular guns that should be freely available are made event/premium like the British Lewis gun, M1922 Hotchkiss and BSA Thompson to name a few.
