Tankgewehr vs scoped PTRS, what a joke

Nothing against PTRS in particular, I think its the gold standard in power for a BR1 AT weapon, the problem other nations AT rifles are usually worthless.

Tankgewehr has just above 20mm of penetration - while PTRS has 40mm of penetration. Its not difficult to see how pathetic the Tankgewehr is. Semi auto vs single load.

So here my “outrageous” proposal:

Lets turn it into an infantry primary weapon, its the only way it might be a valuable collectable.

What even has 20mm of armor? Outside of sniping planes or attacking APCs Tankgewehr isnt much of an AT weapon to begin with.

Just buff tankgewehr penetration to 40-45mm. Most AT weapon stats are already unhistorical so might as well make tankgewehr usable

Just add a scoped Solothurn AT rifle, they existed

Basically you just blow the tracks off of an enemy tank and be annoying. That’s what AT rifles were mostly used for IRL anyway

imo, should be added to the current one.

would make it more appealing.

… but then again, people may not be able to get it.

mh…

i mean, there were different type of that guns.
3 versions in total?

it could work i suppose

Indeed, according to Erica, we may eventually be able to use a semi-automatic Sorotune anti-tank rifle with a scope.

I like this idea, cause the Tankgewehr just isn’t usable when put against German TT AT rifles, and German TT AT rifles are already garbage.

Solothurn 36M, standard issue AT AND sniper rifle of the Hungarian army through the the war.
Solothurn 36M scope
Solothurn 36M 1
Solothurn 36M 3

Hungarian ammo has less pen than what we have in-game now and the unique scope, making this variant really unique. Undisputedly Axis also need a better AT rifle on BR1 too.
I would kinda like it in the tech tree, since it was common, but Im not sure how to sell the idea to blatant mains…

Depends.
The PTRD/S were a serious issue for German tanks (saved for Tiger models) due to poor side and rear armor, hence why the Germans issued sideskirts.
The Boys was turned into a anti-material rifle for the most part when the PIAT was issued.
Japan has a autocannon and was the main answer to tanks that didnt involve cannons and explosives, plus America’s heaviest armor in Asia was the Sherman anyways.
Germany I think mostly turned their PzBs into Granatbüchse or phased them out entirely. Not sure how they were used against heavy Allied and Soviet tanks in the early years.

Solothurn vs PTRS is already fair, Solothurn should have been a TT gun

I want that Solothurn motorcycle!!!

this is basically like g41 vs stv38

if they just remove the aiming restriction

dont forget to remove the aiming restrcitions for the solothurn

I’d rather add aiming restrictions to the other rifles. They literally weighed too much to hold in ADS.

More like Berdan with pistol damage vs Fedorov rifle.

Well when I say PTRS vs Solothurn is already balanced I specifically mean,

PTRS has a 5 round mag, while Solothurn has a 10 round mag - but requires you to lay down.

PTRS might need a second magdump before destroying a target, Solothurn usually blows up a tank with one magdump.

I dont think Solothurn needs its aiming restriction removed.

There was literally a prototype .50 BMG semi auto anti-tank rifle made during WW2. The USA could get it if people suggested it more often
