The T24 Machine Gun currently lacks competitiveness compared to other nations and lacks a clear identity, especially considering its placement in Tier V. At this end-game level, where every other faction brings their absolute best weaponry, the T24, and the US LMG lineup in general, simply cannot compete due to a massive performance gap.
Its fire rate (DPS) is significantly lower than other factions’ Tier V equivalents, while its random spread and moving spread are either equal to or even wider than theirs.
USSR (Tier V): Excellent base accuracy, high rate of fire, and tight spread. Germany (Tier V): Extremely high rate of fire, highly visible/clean iron sights, and decent random/moving spread. Japan (Tier V): Incredibly high burst damage (firing two rounds per shot) combined with a solid fire rate. USA (Tier V): Regular tech tree LMGs at this tier are already quite underwhelming compared to other factions. While weapons like the Stinger or the Vickers K 100-round exist, these are event-exclusive. This creates an unfair disadvantage for new players or those who missed them due to real-life circumstances like military service (as was the case for myself). To make matters worse, the premium T24 has an excessively thick front sight post that blocks the target, while offering neither a competitive fire rate nor decent accuracy due to its terrible spread.
To make the T24 a viable and rewarding Tier V option, I suggest the following adjustments:
Moderately lower the random recoil and movement-induced spread of the T24 to make it competitive against other factions’ LMGs. Improve the sight picture by fixing the excessively thick front sight post to prevent it from completely blocking the target during sustained fire.
A machine gun with a lower fire rate should at least offer decent controllability or precision. However, the T24 currently suffers from both poor DPS and terrible accuracy due to the excessive spread, compounded by a restrictive sight picture.
At Tier V, there is absolutely no strategic reason for players, especially those without access to past event squads, to run this premium squad when every other nation has LMGs that excel in either raw fire rate, precision, or raw damage.
Fixing the over-tuned spread and the iron sights on the T24 wouldn’t make it overpowered; it would simply bring it up to a functional, competitive standard for Tier V matchmaking. I hope the development team looks into these values for the US Tier V LMG lineup, especially the premium T24.
