The T‑44‑100 was an experimental upgrade of the T‑44 medium tank. Two prototypes were built in early (spring 1945) at Factory No. 183 under A. A. Morozov’s design bureau , each testing a different 100 mm gun: the D‑10T and the LB‑1. The D‑10T version is the one we see in War Thunder.
This tank never saw combat, although with many examples at BR IV-V mostly consisting of prototypes, I think it’ll be a perfect addition for the BR V soviet tech tree as an alternative to the rather slow (reload speed) IS-2.
The stats, according to Gaijin’s T-44-100:
Hull armor: (front, sides and back)
90 / 75 ( with the addition of 6 mm skirts) / 45 mm
Turret armor: (front, sides and back)
120 / 100 / 75 mm
Available ammunition:
With the reload speed of 13.7 seconds with unupgraded crew
The T-44-100 is necessary for game balance. The IS-2 has a very long reload time, making it disadvantageous in every way compared to the Tiger 2, and it cannot penetrate the Ferdinand at all. The same goes for the Ho-ri.
Just as the U.S. received the M6A2E1 for balance, the Soviet Union also needs the T-44-100.
The T-34-100 has armor strong enough to make even the Panzer IV wary. The SU-100 is merely a Tier 4 tank, and it lacks a machine gun and a turret.
The M6A2E1 faced the same problem. The T26E1-1 struggled to engage the Hori or Ferdinand head-on with standard APCBCs, and could only barely penetrate them using APCRs. Furthermore, while its reload speed was incredibly long, its high-explosive firepower was weaker than that of a standard M26 Pershing. Consequently, since APCRs had to be used anyway, many people preferred to use the M26 instead.
Enlisted addressed this weakness in U.S. tanks through the M6A2E1. The M6A2E1 was capable of destroying Ho-ri and Ferdinand tanks with standard APCBCs. At the same time, it also resolved the issue of the T26E1-1’s weak HE.
That is why the Soviet Union needs the T-44-100, just like the M6A2E1. It can compensate for the IS-2’s slow reload speed. At the same time, its armor is not weak enough to be penetrated by a Panzer IV. Furthermore, the Soviet Union does not even have an air force like the United States.
In fact, even if they acquire the T-44-100, they will not be able to gain tank superiority over Germany and Japan. The T-44-100’s high-explosive firepower is relatively weak for its caliber, and it will still be difficult to destroy Ho-ri and Ferdinand tanks in front.
What is the Ho-ri, an imaginary tank that never even existed? Wasn’t it removed from War Thunder due to historical inaccuracies?
In fact, I believe the reason the Ho-ri exists in Enlisted, despite its lack of historical accuracy, is for balance. In the past, before the Ho-ri existed, Japan had to face the Pershing with the Type 5 recoilless gun and Chi-To without the rpzb 43 Ofenrohr.
Also, how do the US and Japan possess the Ofenrohr? This is also clearly historically inaccurate, and since the type 6 heavy tank in Japan couldn’t even be shipped there, why does it exist in the game?
On the other hand, the T-44-100 was produced before the end of World War II, so how is it a post-World War II item? If that is the reason, the T-34-100 should also be removed.
Only as 2 one off prototype. But even the T-44-A which were produced only had an 85mm gun but also was deliberately witheld from combat so having a t-44 in combat isnt historical and you cant even reason that its just a prototpye pressed into service for tests or sheer desperation. So in a way it has even less reason to exist ingame as some one off prototype.
It’s all stopgap shit since we lacking in the choice available and sicne devs are slow, and we have shitty BR that has to be balanced around for some bs perceived balance.
No not at all. it’s because they are way slower in Enlisted and not really give a shit so much. they threw it in and t o quick fix the lacking Jap tree, now it’s there casue the devs are slow and doesn’t give too much a shit about it since this game is kinda dead. there you got ur reason
Dumbest shit I ever hear. they added that monstrosity for pur depriness to raise eybrows and somehow thinking it we interesting and raise popularity of the game, that’s the only reason.
It’s a shit Tank as should be. It shouldn’t be in Enlisted really at all it’s a30s desing used as trainging for fitting newwer turrets and guns, It was only used because a shit chassis over and available. ANd in game that age old desing really is unfavorable, easy to take out, easy to spot, hard to hide and get in position.
