Suggestion for make paratroopers better

The paratrooper are fun! The most fun thing in the game currently because of their unique mechanics, at least for the event japanese paratrooper the squad in all his lodout

  • base
  • recon
  • assault
  • anti-tank
  • support

Is neither strong or good but a nice middle road who only the player skill decide the utility of the squad

Now there are some point i like to suggest for make the squad more interesting and complete

  1. costum loadouts
    I suggest to add a 5 lodout who is costumized by the player and use player equipment for example for add a medic loadouts or a all-round loadouts

  2. allied paratrooper deploy zone
    I suggest to add on the paratrooper drop map in the spawn screen the possibility to see where are allied paratrooper drop zone so for avoid to drop in the same area as him

  3. spawn paratrooper more outiside the combat zone
    This is pointed out by other user already but paratrooper plane flight time is too short, and so impossible to counter, so i suggest to spawn the plane a bit more outiside the combat zone for make him a bit more easy to intercept, for explain this better instead of 5s of fly let him fly 10s

  4. change the base perk of paratrooper to harsh landing damage reduction
    Pointed out already by fellow forum user but make sense if all paratrooper get as base perk the one who reduce damage for hard landing

  5. remove transport plane flight status
    Before the drop you can see on the left side of the screen the transport plane status who dont have sense because whe are not the plane pilot and is AI controlled

Add it to each campaign/fraction and put it at the levels…

Really don’t see why they need perk hard landing
look at all those para photos, you can tell whom has passed away before hitting ground, is a bit far fetched to expect all to land safely, maybe they could just open chute earlier? :stuck_out_tongue:

I hope we can have a game mode where attackers use lots of paratroopers to parachute on a large scale, rather than the current small airborne units(now more like special forces)

I think the flight time should be rather similar to whatever is the plane spawn distance. So rather 15-20s.

Also there should be a minimum distance to cap drop restriction, same as with spawn points.

Terrible idea

A separate customization wardrobe option for Para uniform items only - would be a nice update. (I really want to put camo on my Fallschirmjäger helmets :slight_smile:)

No. They must be free to land on cap, what must be removed is the ability to cap from above roofs or other places where regular soldiers cannot get.

The fact that the paras can hang out on inaccessible points on the cap (such as roofs) is incredibly cheesy even if they cannot cap.

In my humble view, this is the closest to p2w that this game has gotten so far in Normandy.

Yeah, but they’ll add them as free unlockable sooner or later. + There’ll be event for free paras in Normandy soon.

You have evidence of that? In my opinion there shouldn’t be two back to back events that give the same class of trooper, no matter how cool it is. I want each event to give out a unique squad/trooper class. Not have two events give the same trooper just for different campaigns.

Someone already posted pic with event paratroopers for normandy. It was through editor or something like that.

I don’t see why everyone wants this hard landing perk, just figure out how far the slow down is after deploying your chute and you will literally never have negative effects from landing, i know using the brain is hard for enlisted players but please just this once think outside the box

I can deploy my chute 1s after leaving the plane and at least one of my soldiers dies. I’ve only ever had one drop in game where all 6 survived. No problem in practice but >95% of the time in battle I lose 1 - 3 who drop at full speed as if chutes never opened.

There’s clearly a bug but it is not affecting everyone.

As someone who uses planes quite often, and as such got used to parachuting my crews, I somehow feel like paratroopers are… different.

Maybe it’s because I rarely use planes in Pacific, but I tried Japanese paratroopers and somehow I invariably end up killing or hurting my first soldier on landing. It feels like they fall faster, or need more vertical clearance to slow down to safe speed, than plane crews I’m used to.

If I’ve understood correctly, I like your idea about the map. Would be useful to see where there paratrooper squads have selected to deploy.

I’ve also struggled generally with the map - could just be me - but the deployment map seems the opposite way round to the normal map and doesn’t seem to show the enemy/allied direction of attack or the grey zones.
