Hello Enlisted developers,I believe we should add a complete Chinese faction to the game. The Chinese theater played a huge role in World War II, with extremely heavy casualties. It should be an independent faction, not merged into other factions.I also think we need more maps for the Chinese faction, and a must-have map is Shanghai, where the Battle of Shanghai took place.Thank you for your consideration.

Do you think the game Enlisted should add a Chinese faction?
While China did use some foreign weapons during World War II, it also had a large number of domestic firearms and vehicles that have not yet appeared in the game. These unique Chinese weapons can serve as excellent additions to existing factions. More importantly, China has a long history of independent military research and development — our weapons are by no means simple “copy-paste” foreign designs, but domestically improved, independently innovated equipment with distinct characteristics.
There’s no doubt China produced domestic designs, but if there aren’t enough to flesh out an entire tech tree then it would have to rely on copy and pastes, and we already have more than enough of those already in the game.
Personally I’d love to see a full Chinese tech tree with domestically produced weapons and vehicles, but I’ve yet to see one that isn’t a majority copy and pastes.
There simply is not enough equipment for China to be an independent and fleshed out faction, try however hard you want. And with most of said equipment being lend-leased or copies of other nation’s equipment, it just wouldn’t be very unique or worth the effort. China was definitely important during WW2, but not so important as to warrant an entire faction to it, especially given how trying to force it probably won’t end well. I’m not against Chinese stuff being added, but it’d be best served as event content.
It may depend on whether the developers create any more independent factions. If Italy and the UK are implemented, then China might be implemented as well.
I don’t think dev will add China as an independent faction.
The first problem is equipment, but since other people had already talk about it I will talk about other factor.
The only faction China would fight is Japan. Japan is not a popular faction in game. To make China interesting, we will need a bunch of new maps. But why would dev spend their limited development power to develop multiple maps for two unpopular factions? Adding new Japan map at least benefits US or USSR which are popular factions.
Players from popular factions would not be happy if they barely getting any new maps.
Players that play Japan would also not be happy since all of their new map in future will basically be China.
While respecting history, joining the Chinese camp should also attract more Chinese users to play this game. As a Chinese, I have observed many Chinese FPS online game players, and their willingness to consume is very high. They also have a strong desire to fight against Japanese aggression in the game’s World War II scenario. Moreover, this type of game has a significant gap in the Chinese market, and at least in terms of business, it is a blue ocean.
Take the game “Easy Red 2” as an example. Before the addition of the “Nanjing Campaign” DLC, its playback volume was only 30,000 at most in the software where young users gathered. After the inclusion of the Nanjing Campaign, the highest single-video playback volume exceeded 800,000, and it was also related to all Chinese campaigns.
You should know that China was also very wealthy in the past.
Equipment has never been an issue.
At the beginning, China possessed weapons from almost all factions on the planet.
So it was always a political issue. It could cause serious political problems, such as the division of the country.
You know that, too.
The so-called “centrism” (Eurocentrism) held by Europeans does not care about matters in Asia. Producing battle maps for Asia and engaging in wars unrelated to it are formidable challenges.
Why make things difficult for each other?
I hope that in the future, the Chinese faction can truly appear in many World War II games. Although this path is still quite long, I still hope to see it happen.
I vote no, simply because other subfactions need to take priority / would be a much easier implementable feature. From a practical POV, China only really fought against the Japanese. Whereas if you implement a Hungarian, British or French subfaction, their applicable across many different fronts so would have greater utility in the game
Edit: just to demonstrate my point further:
British - Fought against Japanese in Singapore and Hong Kong / Germany in DDAY / Norway
Hungary - Fought against Russia in Op Barb / America in DDAY
French - Fought against Germany in Africa / Battle of France (maybe slightly less utility)
Compare against China - only fought against Japanese
We don’t need to fill the tree with copy-pasted weapons. We can start with a focused tree of unique Chinese weapons and expand from there. I hope the developers can create a distinct tech tree for China instead of just reskinning existing assets.
China possesses a vast array of unique weapons that are not currently in the game, which is more than sufficient to support a complete, independent tech tree for a Chinese faction.
Furthermore, China’s significance in World War II was immense: as one of the four major Allied powers, it tied down over 70% of Japan’s total ground forces for 14 years, serving as the core of the Eastern Front. This historical status is far higher than many existing factions in the game, and it absolutely deserves a full, independent faction, not just event content.
I think the country’s attitude towards games is more open now than before. As long as the game doesn’t maliciously depict Chinese troops in a negative light, the government really won’t bother. I don’t know if you have noticed the games with the theme of China’s resistance against Japanese aggression. There are several such games currently in production. Although they are all single-player games, their viewership is quite high, and players are looking forward to them. There is also the Chinese troops in “Battlefield 4”. Despite the western stereotypes of China and the humorous plot, you can still purchase and play it.
I used to think that the government would always regulate games with violent and bloody content, but the success of “Black Myth” is also inseparable from the government’s consistent support for this game, with large-scale promotion and a positive attitude. This makes me feel that games set in the Chinese context of World War II are not just a dream.
