You’re saying this as if it’s something major, rather than everyone assuming you weren’t dumb enough to comment on something you didn’t know anything about.
That’s the issue here, everyone assumed you knew more than you did, because otherwise why would you be so against it…? You’d have no reason to if you didn’t know… You’d just wait for someone to post a correction, rather than diving on it like a live grenade.
But now, you’re stuck in a trench line on your own, holding back something that literally no one else is against (Sonny_Gun votes no on everything, the third guy is “literally who?”).
Good job. Fantastic performance, I’m very entertained.
Theoretically, the effect should the same for both 75mm and 105mm shells if they have the same explosive charge which should be the case (I think) but the bigger shell has more explosive filler in and higher muzzle velocity which does provide advantages.
HEAT shells would matter a lot for StuH since its HE shells are incapable of overpressuring most BR3 and 4 tanks while the HEAT can pretty much OHK KV-1, IS-1 and other tanks on the correct spots.
Its hard to be fair here since StuH has no turret, mediocre armour and no MG. Stuh also couldnt fight tanks without HEAT shells, unlike KV-2 and M4A3 (105), but so far no faction has howitzer tanks on BR3 with HEAT (except III N which is NOT a BR3 though).
Ultimately the main issue here is the huge gap between BR2 and BR4 tanks. The gap is so large that there should be 2 BRs here instead of only 1. StuH is more of a counter to the Chi-Ha short naval gun while KV-2 and M4A3 (105) are obviously a BR better than Chi-Ha short, but due to this over compression is no where near is a big of an issue as the SF rifle or SMG spam.
Personally I would advise Brummbär for Axis if they are looking for a KV-2 or M4A3 (105) counter.
As for StuH, ehh we will eventually see it in game anyway since it has been sitting in the editor for a while now.
Would you say the drawbacks outweigh the benefit of having this with HEAT in BR III? I mean, all the drawbacks you mentioned, plus the visual port weakness, would this thing be more of a blind glasscanon, or too good…?
Also assuming it has a pretty hefty reload speed here.
It does, but it doesnt have any.
There were no HEAT shells for it in real life since its based on a naval gun, not howitzer gun like the other SPGs/howitzer tanks here.
Its gun is also, to put in your words, “ass”. Nice against infantry in the open but incapable against tanks and tbh in most cases high fire rate tanks with weaker HE shells are better because they deal with dispersed threats faster.
Kinda why IS-2 sucks too.
75/32 M41 is very good. I would be fine if they put the 75/18 M41 at BR I (With APHE only) and they moved the 75/32 M41 to BR II with HE and maybe HEAT.
