StuH 42G - a TT SPG for BR3 Germany

Yeah let’s skip over the point about it already being in warthunder. That’s the reason it doesn’t matter. Anyone with warthunder which euthy has and is very familiar with the games has a pretty good chance of answering it. Hell, I’m pretty sure someone said it’s already modeled in enlisted too!

Go do some brain exercises.

Ok mr “it’s 80mm sloped”.

Hmmm…i wonder why? Maybe because i was finding out more about the tank to get a better idea of it’s performance. And you read any of the messages you’d know i said 3 times ( once from the very beginning) that if it only gets HE like everyone else I’d welcome it to the game

HEAT which you no doubt is also an expert on. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Your opinion isn’t worth much.

Hey can you do me a favor and tell me what the provided stat page says there for frontal armor? Maybe I’m just dumb afterall. Please verify what it says for me? I might also be blind, do you see a slope there on provided picture?

I can’t believe it, you’re still going on about it, HAHAHAHA.

HEAT sucks, necessary only if you have no alternative

StuH 42G will interest many, won’t Outstrip Sherman 105.

No, just proving you’re either an punk (edited for mods) or have much worse mental acuity

Just pointing out how silly you are, someone has to. :+1:

For some reason, you have no shame.

Multiple people have told you that the sloped section on the roof is 30mms thick, or at least less than 80mms thick. You still thought it could be 80mms thick, with pictures showing said area was penetrable, after you posted pictures of the Sherman not penning something with 80mms sloped armor…

Jesus christ, what’s wrong with yall? Dude was giving me shit for jumping to a logical conclusion based off the evidence that was supplied. No effing duh it doesn’t have it. someone ACTUALLY posted the armor plate values. You supplied ZERO evidence of such. So yes, i pressed it until the facts where shown with evidence and not just you saying it does or doesnt

You’re saying this as if it’s something major, rather than everyone assuming you weren’t dumb enough to comment on something you didn’t know anything about.

That’s the issue here, everyone assumed you knew more than you did, because otherwise why would you be so against it…? You’d have no reason to if you didn’t know… You’d just wait for someone to post a correction, rather than diving on it like a live grenade.

But now, you’re stuck in a trench line on your own, holding back something that literally no one else is against (Sonny_Gun votes no on everything, the third guy is “literally who?”).

Good job. Fantastic performance, I’m very entertained. :+1:

Theoretically, the effect should the same for both 75mm and 105mm shells if they have the same explosive charge which should be the case (I think) but the bigger shell has more explosive filler in and higher muzzle velocity which does provide advantages.

HEAT shells would matter a lot for StuH since its HE shells are incapable of overpressuring most BR3 and 4 tanks while the HEAT can pretty much OHK KV-1, IS-1 and other tanks on the correct spots.

Its hard to be fair here since StuH has no turret, mediocre armour and no MG. Stuh also couldnt fight tanks without HEAT shells, unlike KV-2 and M4A3 (105), but so far no faction has howitzer tanks on BR3 with HEAT (except III N which is NOT a BR3 though).
Ultimately the main issue here is the huge gap between BR2 and BR4 tanks. The gap is so large that there should be 2 BRs here instead of only 1. StuH is more of a counter to the Chi-Ha short naval gun while KV-2 and M4A3 (105) are obviously a BR better than Chi-Ha short, but due to this over compression is no where near is a big of an issue as the SF rifle or SMG spam.

Personally I would advise Brummbär for Axis if they are looking for a KV-2 or M4A3 (105) counter.
As for StuH, ehh we will eventually see it in game anyway since it has been sitting in the editor for a while now.

Would you say the drawbacks outweigh the benefit of having this with HEAT in BR III? I mean, all the drawbacks you mentioned, plus the visual port weakness, would this thing be more of a blind glasscanon, or too good…?

Also assuming it has a pretty hefty reload speed here.

13 seconds (normal crew) or 10 seconds (ace crew) from War Thunder

I would say yes, but if one faction gets HEAT, why not give to others which would absolutely kill Chi-Ha short which has no HEAT available.

IMO it needs heat. It’s honestly ass for BR III!

It does, but it doesnt have any.
There were no HEAT shells for it in real life since its based on a naval gun, not howitzer gun like the other SPGs/howitzer tanks here.
