i literally watched someone throw a smoke grenade at my sandbag to destroy it… and they should fall apart gradually depending on what part of it takes damage like if a bomb goes off close enough to just hit the left side of it only the left side of the sandbags should be destroyed…
Absolutely.
They need to be given more hit points, and an armour type that means they can’t be destroyed by nades (at least not one nade) or a well placed fart.
To balance it they could increase the build time.
they are not useless, protect u from shots and grenades. Dont expect a portatil bunker that u can build in less than 5 secs
doesn’t really protect you from nades when if you lob it right at the sandbag it goes right through it like its a fuckin AP round
give it a try for yourself go to practice build a sandbag and lob a smoke grenade at it… it breaks the sandbag instantly… works the same with explosion packs and regular hand grenades… if you hit the sandbag with the object it breaks it like its a wet piece of paper before the bomb goes off
It will keep you alive instead of dead if you are on the other side - that’s a lot better than useless!
Sure it’s then gone - but it has done what it needed to
like i just said it won’t protect you when throwing any grenade at the sandbag itself will destroy the sandbag…
The real reason a soldier would sometimes bravely throw themselves onto a live enemy grenade wasn’t to save his squad mates. It was to protect the sandbags they had spent ages setting up.
“Not my precious perfectly arranged sandbags! No! NOOOO!”
yea… its the reason i barely ever use sandbags anymore i just set up a double stacked row of hedgehogs cause at least they’re basically immortal… hell even the AA turrets make better cover, but the best portable cover is an M8 Scott tank’s corpse.
It certainly won’t protect you if yo are standing up behind hte sandbag, but it wil if you are lying down = it helps to have hte sandbag between your head and the explosion!!
not if the explosive basically phases through the sandbag you were laying down behind as it turns into dust from the grenade casing hitting it…
Indeed - if that were the case it would not be any protection at all.
But it isn’t. Try it some time!
how bout you try it cause THAT’S HOW IT CURRENTLY WORKS IN GAME…
build a sandbag pull out a smoke grenade and throw it right at the god damn thing… it goes through the sandbag and breaks it on its way through… the same thing applies to hand grenades and explosion packs… also occurs with molotov’s
or better yet il just show you…
Wow, that should be a bug, right?
like, im pretty sure the sandbags have saved me fron grandes dozens of times, specilly inside the bunkers in D-Day map
yea same if the grenade is far enough away the sandbag does work as intended to save you from explosions but iv been noticing a lot more people throwing grenades like how i showed in the video aiming directly at the sandbag instead of behind or in front of it because if they hit the sandbag with the throw it takes it out, but then you also run into the problem of enemy’s just grenade spamming with an infantry squad to take out all sandbags with the proximity of the explosion… which shouldn’t happen cause real sandbags are actually fairly durable like we use em to hold back flood waters and shit like that, they don’t just fall apart like their paper even from a close proximity explosion, direct/point blank explosions are a whole different story though.
lol good joke but highly unlikely the track on the right side looks like it was hit with a bloody 500kg bomb like that tank is fuckin mangled
or should i say lack of track on the right side.
The picture was taken 5 minutes into a match, so the tank had already been bombed and shelled several times.
Yeah that’s a good point, the build time for sand bags is reasonably long as it is, but they need to be more resilient, esp to small arms.
You can understand if a tank or AT gun hits them with a larger calibre shell, but small arms should not go through until they degrade them over time - a HP model would suffice nicely for this and if the Devs felt creative enough, you could change the look of the sand bags to reflect a more and more damaged state until they fall apart.
give sandbags more HP please
