The MP41 (not the MP41(r) brrrrrt) already is ingame as weapon for a very old premium unit.
The Steyr MP40 definitly should not be a TT weapon. Too rare, too mystic.
Event seems fine. Limited to two or three max.
USSR mains still would be pissed (only they can have fantasy crap and 1946 planes in their TT).
It’s a shame about the MP41, if the MP40 is relegated to an event or squad weapon, that leaves Germany and Japan in need of a solid BR3 SMG in the tech tree. It still feels unbalanced to me when you’re up against Russian SMGs with rates of fire ranging from 800 to 1100 RPM, or US .45 ACP models that deal absurdly high damage for a pistol-caliber SMG. I don’t think .45-caliber weapons should have a damage rating above 7.5 or 7.8; compared to Japan’s 6.7 and Germany’s 6.8, that’s clearly a disadvantage.
On top of the Soviet situation, you have those incredibly weird, recoilless Chinese Thompsons at quite low BRs, not to mention the total copy-pasting of anti-tank weapons.

I think it should be put in the game as it seems just as worthy as many guns that are already in the game. However, my guess is it either won’t be added, or if it were added the dev’s would want to profit from it, so IMOP it would most likely be a premium squad…And it would sell.
It is established by “The Schmeisser Myth” at production that documentation of the production is too little and too fragmented, but even if we had the data, it wouldn’t tell us more.
Production changes occurred over time and not simultaneously, such as the ribbed magazine handle replacing smooth magazine handle which was first implemented by Steyr in 1941, but Erma and Haenel only introduced these changes in the next year.
This characterises Mp40 production pretty well, this change was designed, accepted and implemented on a firm level then other factories caught on.
You are expecting documentation to be brought forward for something that never needed it.
It was not sent to Berlin for approval, it did not need a prototype with its own Gerät number.
No, the book does not focus on production changes and there many changes that go completely unmentioned. The book is actually focusing on describing the most prominent features of the production runs so collectors can recognise their guns from (its a collector´s book).
The best book on explaining in detail what changes occurred to the Mp40 during the production is still The German Submachine Guns by Lydon Haywood.

There are multiple picture of the same gun, not to mention that its not an easy to modify black and white picture either. Comparing fake Ppsh41 to this gun is an insult to my research.

Urss use the uragan in TT does it not? The as44 too… and those are extremely rare, perhaps more so than this mp40 version, during ww2 at least (maybe they made more as44 AFTER)

This gun was a mistake and should be removed from the TT like they did with the axis MP 717(r) aka. PPSh41. The Uragan should be an event gun, nothing more. The ussr bias thinks different I guess…

Imho it would be wrong to put the Steyr MP40 in the TT. Let the soviet mains enjoy their bias and body armor.
Isn’t that chambered in a different round them the PPSH-41 in the soviets TT? Not like the MP-41(r) but a German bullet type then the 9mm?
The MP41(r) is chambered in 9x19 Parabellum (MP40 mags). The MP717(r) has the 7.63x25 ammo.
So the same as the Soviets TT one?

The MP717 and PPsh-41 are chambered in two different bullets.
The MP717 is chambered in 7.63 Mauser. This bullet has less power than 7.62mm Tokarev, so the gun cycles slower, reducing the ROF
7.63 Mauser and 7.62 Tokarev are similar enough size that they can be used interchangeably

It has a different model with an early pattern ladder sight instead of a notch sight, and it fires 7.63mm Mauser instead of 7.62mm Tokarev
How would you ever consider it copy paste if it has different visuals and different stats? Where do we draw the line?
