Star model A Carbine

Hello bajtársak and fellow forumdwellers,
The Star model A is the commercial variant of the Star model 1921 which was adopted by the Spanish Guardia Civil, the model 1921 itself is a highly improved Spanish copy of the M1911, as I said in my last suggestion, Spain had the lenient copy-right laws at that time so popular guns were routinely (and shamelessly) copied in Spain.

Star Bonifacio Echeverria is a Spanish firearms company that grew significantly in the first world war, thanks to French contracts and was lucky enough to land a good contract with the Guardia Civil just after the end of the First World War, giving the company financial stability to attempt to break into the last remaining large market with high demand for guns: China which had an obsession with machine pistols and pistol caliber carbines.

The Star model A was rechambered for the 7.63x25 Mauser, received a Mauser style detachable wooden stock, a longer barrel, larger 16 and 32 rounds magazines, the rearsight was replaced with a tangent rear sight for long range shooting, turning the model A pistol into a true pistol caliber carbine.
In the late 1920s pistol carbines with fire selector picked up popularity and a fire selector was added to the Star model A as well for semi-auto and full-auto shooting.

The design was unsuccessful as it sold badly in the Far-east and its production was terminated in 1928. The Chinese market was dominated by the Mauser C96 and its clones, people simply did not have faith in designs unknown to them.

Siam, seems to have purchased Star carbines
I have no proper source this time but I got some evidence to back this up,
Siam had its own license built Star carbines and machine pistols in the 30s which suggests that they had prior history with Star’s guns.

Found these pictures of a Star Model A pistol carbine in Thailand.

Besides Siam, Japanese soldiers could have purchased the gun themselves or captured them from Chinese troops.

In game

Japan is the only faction that does not have a full-auto sidearm
Axis have Mauser Schnellfeuer M712 from events
Allies have the Colt Swartz from events
Soviets have the Yazikov SMG from battle pass
With the Star model A carbine added, Japan would also have its own unique fully automatic sidearm.

Would you like to see the Star model A carbine added to the game?

I did a little research on Ru Forum back then, and I found out what cartridge this pistol was chambered for and what the magazine capacity was.

Yes, there are indeed orders for the Star A (7.63mm) and P (0.45 ACP) with the destination being Japan (where Japanese companies were reselling the pistols to China, circumventing sanctions). However, all models are labeled as semi-automatic. I couldn’t find any information about fully automatic versions of the pistol in Chinese sources.

thats really weird, given that China was supposed to be the main market of the gun.
As far as I know, full-auto setting only appeared towards the end of the production, with far less produced of them than the semi-auto only Star carbines, so maybe it has to do with the quantity made.

Whether BP or event, if you want four the Dev’s are still going to make us pay for it. I have the Soviet Yazikov and the Allies Swartz, but need the German one to go along with they did offer a Japanese one.
