Lately I’ve been plying stalingrad axis quite a lot and I’m baffled that somehow a campain in a big city sees more use of BA rifles than a campain in vilages (mostly).
I don’t understand it at all. Are all those BA players in stalingrad just bots or what?
My experiences from Stalingrad:
Allies are mostly non stop filled with real players, but they are nearly always completely clueless. Meaning they are extremely unpredictable in the matter of equipment as well.
On axis side, there’s like 2-3 real players carrying rest of the team completely filled with bots. Bots = lots of BAs.
I’ve experienced more full auto spam and explosives spam in Moscow than any other campaign, and I’m not even joking.
There is no more hellish experience than two full teams of veteran players going up against eachother in Moscow.

It used to be a chill campain but now it’s a hellhole.

Moscow is one of the, if not THE only campaign having 4 assaulters squads in…
Last time I checked, Moscow was almost as much full auto spam than Berlin (at least it makes sense in Berlin).
Not really a relevant thing. Since you need only 3 squads for ration.
And it’s not like there is exceptional number of smgs for Moscow.
Imho I prefer MGs in Moscow over smgs, especially premium MGs.
My most used squads in Moscow are basically just both panzers IV E to bully infantry, MG42 early and MG13 (75 mag), bf110.
And for allies M3 lee (hopefully we’ll see f2p version for mericans. Such a enjoyable vehicle against infantry, way more interesting than grant), I-16, AKT-40 and MG federov.
But I don’t play allies too often.
There is an exceptional amount of smgs… But mostly in the Soviet side (because their smgs are better than their lmgs, simply)
It’s true you only need to rotate 3 squads, however having 4 different assaulters ones in this campaign just means there’s many more assaulters weapons to use/lvl up… A bit like in Berlin.
Moscow isn’t BA friendly like 2 years ago. For BA or even semi auto lovers, the spot is now Tunisia or Pacific… But those are unbalanced (due only to population shift).
After the upcoming war thunder conversion, it won’t be better with devs having put bolties all over 6 tiers, but giving access to really really stupid things like pps42 at tier 2…
Ppl will just spam assaulters everywhere, and I cannot blame them for the devs tech tree (lol, lines) failure.

Not really. The only reason why it seems like its heavy BA friendly is because there’s lot of bots there.
Otherwise players would be using non stop M2 carbines, SIGs, Thompsons 50 and so on…
Moscow and Normandy are the most favorite campaigns. Meaning there’s nearly always enough players. And that’s why you see less BAs there.
Thinking there’s heavy BA campaign is just disillusionment.
The today adjustment on the LV sheets moved the Lee-Enfield mk3 from the lv4 to lv6…

Trust me, BA and semis shine here, EVEN with the, granted, exellent smgs present. It’s really just thanks to the very open terrain.

Yeah, you are right.
Especially Tunisia has extremely good BAs for Allies. I really do enjoy Lee E IV, what a great rifle there.
But I still don’t think it’s primaly rifle campaign.
You are playing against bots there, so you are not forced to use more effective weapons.
I could farm there with A13 bots whole mqtch without dying.
And I was very active, basically just circling around objective nonstop.
Same goes for Pacific. You are playing against bots 24/7.
That’s why it feels so comfortable for BA users. There’s literally no threat. You can dominate with basically anything.
And since rifles are very satisfying to use when you are not forced to face ARs and Smgs 24/7, that’s why they are using so commonly by real players too.
And imho tunisia maps aren’t that open.
It’s been level 6 since the release of the sheet.

BA it’s cool, i use ppsh41 squad and boltie squad in same game
I also like to play peekaboo with BA.
What I mean is that imo moscow maps seem to be better for BA gameplay than stalingrad and yet in reality it’s the other way around apparently.
I run 3 fully decked bolties in stalingrad most of the time. Soviets have never been very aggressive/capable in that campaign, regardless of strong equipment
