The only battlefield where BA is somewhat on par with full auto weapons are in the Pacific.
Sure, I use bolt-action in every campaign but in the Pacific I have 3-4 BA squads there, just because they are that good and fits the maps excellent.

I pretty much only use weapons that cost 1 silver order or whatever I am given to start with. So mostly bolt actions. That and I feel bad if I use anything blatantly better than a stock bolt action because I can aim and bolt actions are really good. Luckily, the only things better than bolt actions are large capacity weapons that you can simply spray and have ammo left to kill my bayonet charging butt.
Also, Stalingrad’s progression is so fast that you would run out of silver orders just equipping squads with weapons that you will likely want to replace in a few battles.
adding the M3 Lee to Pacific might be nice. and I think to make it fair for the Japanese, Give them the Type 3 Chi nu. Despite the Chi-Nu not seeing action in WW2, it would probably be the only tank thatwould’vee been easy to transport to Japanese Controlled islands and counter American M3 Lee and American M4 Shermans.
The Type 3 Chi-Nu medium tank was urgently developed to counter the American [M4 Sherman] medium tank. Originally, the next tank in development to be the [Type 1 Chi-He] was the [Type 4 Chi-To] medium tank. However, the development of the Type 4 Chi-To was delayed, and a “stopgap tank” was needed. Development of the Type 3 Chi-Nu occurred in 1943. It was the last design based directly on Type 97 lineage. The low priority given tanks, along with the raw ma terial shortages meant that the Chi-Nu did not enter production until 1944. The Chi-Nu retained the same chassis and [suspension] of the Type 1 Chi-He, but with a new large hexagonal [gun turret] and a commander’s cupola. The [Type 3 75 mm tank gun] was one of the largest guns used on Japanese tanks. The thickest armor used was 50 mm on the front hull; it also had 25 mm on the turret, 25 mm on the sides and 20 mm on the rear deck. The Chi-Nu was the best and most powerful IJA tank to go into general production and deployment. However, given the fact available raw materials were in very short supply, and with much of Japan’s industrial infrastructure being destroyed by American strategic bombing.
The Chi-Nu did not see combat during the war. All produced units were retained for the defense of the [Japanese Homeland] in anticipation of the projected [Allied Invasion]. They were to be part of the “Mobile Shock Force” to be used for counter-attacks against the anticipated Allied invasion. The [4th Tank Division] had a “significant” number of the Type 3 Chi-Nu tanks produced at its depot by the end of the war.
Or the fact that Semi auto and some automatic are locked behind paywall doesn’tgive you a hint?
I hope they come up with some early war campaigns (especially France and Low Countries) where it’s mostly bolties available along with LMG’s. Would be fun to play boltie without having to deal with PPSH or even SA rifles.
I’d love to see French tanks in game as well.
Winchester can still carry most matches on allies side in Moscow.
Axis… I don’t know yet. I have good days and bad but haven’t even unlocked a semi auto.
I experienced the same thing when I was doing my Stalingrad allies BP task. Lot of players using BA rifles and they are not bots. They are real players.
Surprisingly they did really well against meta players. Were nice matches.
I can tell you this, I’ve maxed allies in Stalingrad so I got used to all the automatic and semi weapons with max stats.
Then recently, I started allies Tunisia and fell in love for the mk Bolt Action rifle with 10 ammo .
I got so used to it that I can consistently do 1 shot, 1 kill. Now add the engineer ability to build tally points, AAA, mg nest and ammo, and you have enough means to make a difference in any match without super op-end-of-the-line automatic weapons.
But BAs are overpowered as hell too. They’re just not good for quick storming of objectives.
If there was gamemode without them, BA would br dominating.
Using BAs and thinking you are somehow extremely skillful in comparison to full auto users is just complete disillusion.
BAs are quite good overall but they lack squad wiping ability. And that’s kind of crucial when each player has 6 minions on average.
So I wouldn’t call them OP by any means. Just good.
