Just for people to remember, the Type Hei auto is the only BR5 select fire rifle that can’t one hit down soldiers with vitality + body armor.

FG42 was buffed not so long ago for this very reason.

But the same will apply to BR2 and BR3 semi auto for instance : Type Hei, Type Otsu, Type 4, Hino rifle … there is not a japanese semi auto rifle that will be able to one hit down soviet soldiers with Vitality + Body armor.

Yeah but it has 30 rounds with no recoil and no deviation , if they buff it to 15.3 damage it will be completely broken , they should make type hei assault rifle and give Japan a new SF rifle that can one shot soviets with vitality and body armor…

Type Hei Auto is weird since it is the best SF at ranges 0-21m, the worst at ranges 21m-68m and then again at ranges 68m+

Buffing it would be silly - removing the damage reduction from the body armor however is more than reasonable

this one line of code needs to be changed to:
item__armorAmount:r=0.0

That is literally all it takes, took me five seconds to do (they just need to do that for all of the different armor entities (i think there is like 8)

The soviet assault engineers should be the only exception because that’s supposed to be their gimmick.

or make it much more hard to obtain in some way, other factions could have body armors as well but as extremely rare items

Devs already said that they want to make skins with tank tracks add up on some little armor so maybe something like this with cosmetics wouldnt be too far? Dunno

To be had, they just need to add a run/stamina restriction to those that use body armour as everyone in the Japanese faction has a 150%sprint bonus with their katanas…body armour is slower, katana faster to attack/defend the objective.

I mean yeah its fair. 6 man squad with only 1 type of specialist isnt going to be game breaking. Germans with their helmets do fine after all balance wise

Agreed, I am not asking for a buff to the Type Hei, this gun is find against the US imo.

I don’t know, maybe removing the body armor would solve the issue… maybe

Good… the type hei auto is OP.

i just finished equipping 3 rifleman squads in 3 different campaigns with them so naturally i’m going to have to disagree.
