All cool items and weapons only for those who have full acess. Ok, this game is business. But…
Theres no much players in Enlisted yet. And a few players will pay for fun. So, I believe will be a waste of time playing Stalingrad if you have no full acess. Play with more bots? I will focus my time on the other maps that will give me more fun (items, weapons, etc).
Accepting that you don’t want to buy the premium access pack, and I don’t judge people for their purchasing decisions, there are still a handful of really good reasons to at least try Stalingrad (which everyone CAN, regardless of whether they paid or not):
The future of bolt action rifles in Enlisted is on loving display in Stalingrad. The sound for each of the bolt rifles is SOOO much better than the other campaigns; the deadliness of the bolt action rifle is (IMO) where it should’ve been all along, and it overall just feels more snappy and satisfying to use.
The future of team-based mechanics is on display in Stalingrad. The medic class is coming out of the gate with the right ideas. You get +30 for healing a teammate, and +45 for reviving them. I can’t remember the bonus for people replenishing their first aid kits from the box that the medic can put down, but I bet it’s on par with engineers (who also recently got some good buffs to their activities).
The atmosphere of Stalingrad in Enlisted is probably among the top 2 representations I’ve seen in a game. I don’t know how many people they had working on it, but the buildings, the streets, the skybox and the general feel is probably the best among the campaigns in Enlisted. The maps feel a little bit wider, the buildings feel a little more interactive, and other than the same issues with street clutter that Berlin has, it feels more like the savage city fighting that I expect in WW2.
That’s my nickel version of day one impressions. The bombers, the concussion and some of the other stuff will probably be tweaked, but you should at least play a few levels or a few battles and just try it out…there is a lot of really neat stuff packed into this campaign.
Ironically, this may be kind of for the best. While bots (and especially full-bot squads) are inexcusably bad, interactions with players are almost always even worse. At least against bots you can enjoy gunplay and scenery. Against players you either abuse and cheese the opponent, or get abused and cheesed at.
Of course. Bots are good people. They don’t do none of that. The worst things they can do is spaz out or get stuck. On the other hand, players will try to not just win, but to humiliate and otherwise annoy you at every opportunity. Even if they play worse than you. Especially if they play worse than you. And because of how the game is, opportunities are aplenty.
Exactly.
I myself will not play for 3 reasons:
It’s 100% pointless for f2p players.
And if you buy it, you’re basically buying recycled gear you already have in other campaigns. And I frankly don’t care about vehicles, as I have every single one of these already unlocked in warthunder.
And lastly, It’s basically the same type of combat as you get for free in Berlin, which I myself am not a fan of.
It’s WAY different than Berlin, stalingrad maps are the perfect harmony of close quarters and long range. Stalingrad is now my 2nd fave campaign just because of the map
