yeah its buggy, its disappointing fully meeted my expectations
yeah sure the stun that goes trough walls its really surprising
meh paywalled campaign with paywalled customization and meh old campaigns levels, just disappointing
Map is great. Though need better player management. Complex terrain but still 2x10 souls that can control the entire soldiers. Maybe complex map can do well in solo mode.
Balance is very poor. Attacker can be very hard. Even playing at EEU server, Soviet still very hard to win. Cant think of other server’s soviet side is like.
Very love this selling approach. Save a lot of money and lots of time to grind. (I dont care F2P players. You are requesting too more.)
New customization and the new golds squad is still too expensive. Far beyond reasonable price. (F2P players you obviously wont care right? Cant even spend 30USD but caring about 5 USD per uniform?)
Also, medic… TNT? Still is not used to it.
so far i m having lots lots of fun!
i dont loose sleep over bugs , so far none are gamebreaking for me. but i would rather have them extend batlepass even more and fix most of them
All in all i am happy and excited (just a little little bit disappointed, because of the customisation prizes)
The customization is alright BUT THE PRICES ARE WAY TO HIGH. 4.50 dollars for a single soldier equals 42 dollars for a single infantry unit. Thats way to much (i thought it would only cost like 20 gold but 240? it hurts more to pay that than it would make me happy)
Now a close review:
-
Assaulters and snipers forced to use white suits and cant wear normal brown jackets? i think the white is a little to bright for stalingrad in the current maps
-
I love the maxim stationary mg, my truly favorite gun which i have ever used in any game. Its simply awesome (best update ever
)

I like the female pilot squad:
The plane is insanely bad, very slow and no machinegun at all. (control is bad too)
The pilots got cool and unique voice lines, the faces look pretty nice too
it represents real war heroes: Mariya Smirnova
and Tatyana Sumarokova
They even used to fly together in real life! Awesome detail!

Decals on tanks cant be unlocked for all tanks, you can just buy one pice of them for 1.20 dollars. You can just use it once in your entire armory, if you want more, you have to buy it again
-
Bugs on faces of regular soldiers. If you put a soldier which you used before in the reserve, and then put him in a squad again for the first time, his face will randomly change, even if you paid
Stalingrad update gets a 8/10 from me
many good points for this update,
but:
- recoil for automatic weapon seems tooo high in Stalingrad, especially for machine guns and automatic weapons
- explosion shocks are tooo bad
3.premium squads being tooo powerful, p2w - attackers are camping in their base and people can’t kill them
I don’t want to see the nerfed effects in Stalingrad being implemented in other campaigns.
People will feel badly if their existing things become trashes.
Was expecting more maps tbh. However all in all it’s okish.
They wouldn’t fix them if we don’t tell them about these bugs, so for me it would not change anything if they extended it even more.
For now it seems really fun for me.
Maps are beautiful, detailed and what’s most important - large. There is enough room for manouvers and flanking, even with tanks.
Flamethrower Panzer II is really fun too. Very fast and agile, perfect for sneaking around the enemy. And 40 meters of range in flamethrower is glorious.
Domination of bolt action rifles (at least until people get to PPSHs, MKbs etc. is also something that I like about Stalingrad. New shooting effect are nice.
Maxim - no more words needed.
Ampulomiot - really fun toy too
Overall I’m mostly satisfied with Stalingrad for now. Of course there are some bad things like way too overpriced customisation (make sure that you finish new achivements until 4th April - you can get 44 appearance orders for free). I haven’t seen many bugs yet (only one major bug with unlimited flame tank ammo).
It has some issues, but the new shooting dynamic is very good, it feels hiper realistic.
too soon to tell, but so far im having LOTS of fun with the bolt action dmg buff, killing most of the time with one shot is very satisfying!
Performance got worse and all the item and texture pop-ins on the new maps is driving me crazy
I only had time for 1 game. But I loved it. Aside from the standard overly passive players (which isn’t patch or even game specific), My first Impression was awwww yeah.
Flame tank was fuuuuun on the bun
New rifle sounds were pleasing
Having a Night Witch biplane fly overhead 30 seconds in was awesome haha. I thought it was a bug because I could hear the engine coming but it took forever to arrive LOL
Loved the extra content. I only previewed gear, looks great.
good: bolt-action rifles buff and new sounds, molotov buff, the new TNT, and SMG nerf
bad: locked-up stalingrad levels for f2ps. We knew this before the update but it definitely hit me once I started leveling up: why would I grind all the way to 26 if I won’t be able to access half the levels?
Fighting with early-game weapons and starter squads again was a nice experience too. But I will wait a bit to see how the campaign unfolds, if it draws enough players and no bots and such, before committing to play it seriously.
I am as disappointed and disgusted as I thought I would be. Expectations met and even exceeded.
Before the announcement of the update I didn’t think they could ruin progression even further, but they did. You can’t even pay to make progression good, you can only pay to make it go away. In the meantime gameplay problems are still there, as insufferable as ever.
This awful update even soured me further on the already deeply flawed other campaigns, because who knows what they’ll do next to them. Made me not want to invest even my spare time into them.
Shell Shock… Is there anything else that needs to be said
Customization is overpriced and tank combat is clunky as usual. the rest is fine i guess
I don’t really want to play p2w trial versions and i’m not gonna pay for an extended campaign to a game that i’m already bored with anyway, so i probably just play the dailies involved with Stalingrad to see the maps and stick to older campaigns or quit again. Kinda stillborn expansion to me.
I’m enjoying Stalingrad, I like the new weapon updates for the most part but some tweaking is necessary.
But yeah, I’ll make it known as much as possible, the new concussive effects I find so constant as to be physically painful. It’s not as bad in Stalingrad where there’s less det spam, but on other campaigns, it’s become nauseating to play.
i’m enjoying it though some of the spawn points do need to be changed
