Sdkfz 231 8Rad Add for Br 1 Axis

A fast Vehycle for Br 1 Axis, max speed of 90- 100 km/h.

Sd.Kfz. 231 (8-Wheel)

similar weapons to the Panzerkampfwagen II (auch PzKpfw II , Panzer II oder Sd.Kfz 121 )

Sd.Kfz. 231
The series production of the Sd.Kfz. 231 (8-Wheel) ran from 1937 until September 1943, with a total of 607 Sd.Kfz. 231 and 232 produced, which were used on all fronts. The vehicles weighed 8 tons. They were 5,850 mm long, 2,200 mm wide, and 2,350 mm high. With an eight-cylinder V engine Büssing-NAG L 8 V with 7.9 liters displacement and 155 HP, a speed of 90 km/h was achieved. The later 8.4-liter engine produced 180 HP and allowed a speed of 100 km/h. The all-wheel drive gave the armored cars good off-road mobility. However, the vehicles were only armored with 10–14 mm in the front and 8 mm on the sides, which is why a 10 mm shield was mounted on the front starting in mid-1940. From 1942, the front armor was reinforced to 30 mm, and the newer 2-cm KwK 38 was installed. For the KwK 30 (later 38), 180 rounds of ammunition were carried, and for the MG 13 (later MG 34) 1,125 rounds (later 2,100 rounds).

Its ideal role would be neither a tank nor a troop respawn APC, but a dedicated infantry support vehicle that marches alongside foot soldiers.
Regular APCs have to stay far from enemy capture points since their main job is respawning teammates. Tanks need to keep their distance from objectives too, to avoid enemy anti-tank weapons.
This vehicle is clearly low-cost. It can shield infantry and push forward on the frontline, while letting tanks hang back safely.

This would also require an entirely new troop type or squad. It’d be the perfect chance to give the APC driver role a much-needed new purpose.

I dont think so.
In Br 1 it would work as tank as well definitiv in a map with a lot of space like Tunesia
or some Battle of Moscow maps.
With its mobility and speed it can flanlk and change position!

For what this game is, I believe these vehicles would be “tanks”. Reminder when I say tank I mean it as a catch all for combat vehicles. That means the 2 vehicle slots.

Rider and APC are basically infantry classes

If there would be a version who hase a radio who can call Artillery and Airstrikes then it would be maybe something else!

I think in the Normal case it would count as a Tank in Game!

Yeah but then it gets complicated where almost every vehicle had some sort of radio and there were even some dedicated radio variants. Then why would these light vehicles get turned into “radios” when even more heavily armed vehicles also could potentially. So then we just turn every vehicle into a radio then?

That’s why I prefer simplicity. No matter what vehicle you are just spawn and start supporting infantry (by killing!) whether you’re a Panzer 1 or a Tiger 2

But just like the recent Sd. Kfz. 221 it’ll be dead on arrival. The game is not suited for light vehicles in the tank slot. Ideally a Rider II or Rider III class with scout cars and the like would house them but at the moment they’re just a worse option when looking at what tanks do in the game and how the maps are designed. The only maps that might support it are part of Tunisia but even at BR1 you’re going to be lumped into the other maps where it just doesn’t work.

This thing would be better against infantry as the recent Sd. Kfz. 221!

Does it really matter if a a 231 and Panzer 2 are both tank slots when they both have the same gun and weak armor with only minor differences. It’s just another low BR vehicle.

Or we can look at the Panzer 4, Stug, 251, 234. All have the same gun

I feel Rider is fine as basically an infantry class.

I just think you spawn as whatever vehicle and do whatever job you can

I just wish we had more players and vehicle slots.

That’s exactly it. If this light vehicle takes up a tank squad slot, why wouldn’t I just spawn a superior tank instead? Even the Panzer II outperforms it, and wheeled vehicles crawl along slowly across all maps anyway.

It’s plain to see this vehicle needs its own separate squad slot, completely independent from tank units.

What are you even talking about? Take the Sd.Kfz. 221 for example; it’s just a tiny car fitted with something equivalent to an anti-tank rifle. Even the Bren carrier APC racks up way more kills than it does.

This vehicle was a dud from the very start. It takes up a tank squad slot yet performs worse than the Panzer II Ausf. C. It would at least be somewhat viable if it didn’t hog a tank slot at all.

And it shares its BR with multiple Pz 3s that are always better.

Then all light vehicles will continue to be dead on arrival. They are simply a hinderance to the team by taking up a tank slot and not contributing nearly the same value.

If i am not wrong the Sd.Kfz. 221 Pzb hade in history some shrapnel ammo what could be usefull against infantry!

Some of the Italian light vehycles is kind of nice!

In my opinion I would overhaul the BRs a bit and shuffle some vehicles around. So BR 1 could only be very light vehicles that have machine guns and cannons. Ideally every vehicle should suffice in their specific BR. If someone brings a BR 1 vehicle to a BR 5 match it is what it is.

Like I say just spawn and do your job until you get blown up

I know we all love the big and deadlies, but we shouldn’t completely overlook all the other vehicles. Otherwise at a certain point they might as well stop adding new vehicles. Sure the meta is the game but there are so many vehicles that can be added for variety. Plus they do have a use when they are just another stepping stone on the RT. Gotta use A before you unlock B, then use B before C, etc etc. Or maybe someone just likes a particular vehicle.

I like variety and history. I make my loadouts chronologically and divide vehicles by type. Why do I sometimes use the Marder even though the Stug is objectively better? I just felt like it. I like to see all these different vehicles. So yes once in a while I will play these niche vehicles and that’s enough for me.
