The Ruhr had always been Germany’s largest industrial region. By the end of the war, it was the last region capable of ensuring the country’s defenseability. The largest forces on the Western Front were concentrated in the Ruhr. The defeat of the Ruhr Group and the loss of the Ruhr meant the complete collapse of the Western Front and the loss of virtually all of Germany’s industrial potential.
By the way, these locations are in War Thunder. I’m not a War Thunder player, but I managed to find out that the Ruhr air map was originally created, and then the tank map “Rhine Crossing” was based on it.

From these pictures I can tell that Ruhr will play like something like Berlin for the US with Ruins of Vaux vibes.
Let’s look at real photos. These are two color photos that I was able to find.
During the Ruhr operation, the Germans blew up dams and destroyed bridges to halt the Allied advance. The consequences of these actions can be seen in the first photo.
In the second photo, we can see low-rise buildings in this area. It reminds me of some unused areas of the Ardennes maps.
Other photos.

Bonn on the other bank.

Dusseldorf. For some reason this place reminds me of Harbin from the upcoming update.
“Harbin” again.

Churchill, Eisenhower and Montgomery in Wesel observe the crossing of the Rhine.

Churchill crosses the Rhine.

A captured KV-2. Later captured by the Americans. This would make an interesting decoration.

Ernst Ludwig Bridge. I cropped the dead American soldier out of this photo.

More low-rise buildings. By the way, it would be interesting to see the squad from the last photo in the game.

Frankfurt am Main. This reminds me most of what I saw in War Thunder pictures.

Munster. This place reminds me most of Vaux.

Munster again. By the way, these “square houses” remind me of a tractor plant.

This place reminds me of Berlin.

This could be turned into something like that bridge level from Call of Duty.

I don’t know what to say about this photo. It’s just an open area.
Just some park.

“German” Sherman.

This looks like Seelow.
Normandy train station?
And some more photos:

I don’t expect the developers to make a full-fledged campaign for the Ruhr, or at least adapt the maps from War Thunder. However, I would be quite happy with something like Wald for the US, with some Power Plant elements thrown in. Basically, a map that plays well with slightly reworked assets from other campaigns, without any ambitions for novelty or uniqueness. Just Wald for the US.
Customization. Ideally, for the US, adjacent to Normandy, and for Germany, adjacent to Brelin. However, I’m not sure the developers are capable of mixing customizations from existing campaigns like that, so I’ll suggest the Normandy customization for Germany.
